The month before the wedding (long vent)?

The month before the wedding (long vent)?

FH and I have been engaged and wedding planing for almost 2 years. Every ime someone would ask me how it was going, I would respond with some version of great, or easy, or something of the sort. I should have known that the $hit would hit the fan when we got to the 1 month mark.
Between people not RSVPing, being well under our min, guests not booking hotel rooms and then complaining that there are now none left, getting the BM dresses in time, trying to finish DIYs, etc I feel like I want to scream. I had to tell FH last night we aren't allowed to talk about the wedding today-then of course 1st thing this morning he gets an email from one of the GMs that he can't get a room cause the hotel is booked. Of course I now have to deal with this.
Last night I was tickling FH in bed and he accidentally elbowed me in the nose. It hurt like a biatch and I immediately thought, 'Oh great, now I am gonna have a broken nose 3 weeks before the wedding.' I cried, at first because of the pain of being wacked in the nose (no it isn't broken) but then I just started sobbing because of the stress.
Anyone else gone through, or going through this? How do you calm yourself/destress?

yeahhhh.....I'm not there yet w/ the stress but i see it coming.

Just take it one day at a time and don't let the small things get you frustrated. Focus at the task at hand, take some YOU time and you'll see that everything will fall into place.

HTH and cheers you up It'll be ok

Awe hope your nose is ok!

I feel very stressed too.. just with RSVP issues and FIL drama, BM's not answering me, my dress is nowhere to be found.. etc etc. I can not sleep at all, but lately I found that when things start to get worse I have been laughing about it and saying 'F it'..I never thought that would be my reaction to all of it.. but so far it is. Give me like 2 more weeks and I think ill be crying as well. We will see.

Try to hang in there. Everything will work out and be amazing! Everyone goes through this and in the end they come back and say what an amazing day they had and how all of this BS was worth it.

Get a massage, it will help to just have an hour of relaxation!!!!!!

I got a facial last week and I also have been swimming alot which changes my whole mental state, if that makes any sense at all...

I am totally with you....planning has been going so easy and it is other people who are throwing a wrench in things...FHs aunt is on the war path that we allow her grandson to attend the wedding (we are not inviting small children and no second cousns because our RH is small so we need to stick to IMMEDIATE family) but she is dragging me through the mud and making life difficult for everyone....

the thing that gets me through this is that FH and I have each others back... as long as we are good that is all that matters. HANG IN THERE!

I'm not at the 1 month mark yet (just approaching 3 months) but between the wedding and buying a house I felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown.

The only thing I can tell you is that xanax has become my friend! When my dr. told me to take a prescription for it 'just in case' about a month ago, I thought she was crazy. She said 'I planned my wedding and bought a house at the same time too - I know what it's like.'

I filled the prescription but didn't take any until Monday! What a difference it makes. I took one Monday and another one last night - it helps take the edge off when it gets really crazy and stressful.

I was thinking about getting a massage the week before the wedding, even trying to get an appt for FH and I to go at the same time. But this may have to move up a few weeks.

Thanks girls, it's nice to know I am not the only one.

That too....totally helps...when I get to that point where i'm at the edge, xanax is my friend!

I am SO sorry everything is so stressful. It just ***** and I feel for you.

First, take one day at a time and one problem at a time.

Next take a day (this saturday or Sunday) and pamper yourself. Weather its a massage, mani pedi, NO FACIAL!!!!! Just take some time to relax and enjoy yourself.

But just take one problem at a time.

I have to say as far as the hotel is concerned I have NO sympathy for anyone who didnt book (in my case) We started telling all the OOT in Febuary to make reservations so I could extend the block. A moth ago they hotel was sold out except for the block of rooms I had (and other weddings). So I have been telling everyone for 8 months already about the rooms. If they dont have a room at this point too bad!

I cant friggin STAND people who wait to the last min to do things. Especially your groomsman. What was he thinking?????????

Yes! I went through the same thing! I would spontaneously cry either good or bad cries. I felt bipolar at times! My lunch hours, evenings, and weekends were all dedicated to the wedding and it s*cked! People cancelling, people b*tching, ugh I was about to run away and just get married! To top it all off we closed on our house a month before the wedding, my DH was working crazy OT bc one of his co-workers was out on maternity leave.

I think the week of the wedding was the most stressful for me! I went home and cried to my dad 'I dont think I can do this!' And it wasnt bc I didnt want to marry DH, it was all the stress and everyone involved! I was nervous about not looking perfect, about walking down the aisle in front of a ton of people, what if a vendor doesnt show up? etc.

Dont worry we all go through it and this is why they make honeymoons. You will have a sense of relief the next day and be able to breathe and be happy, trust me. The stress was definitely worth it in the end bc my wedding day was the best day of my life and each day after that has been complete bliss. I can actually sleep at night now!

i soo feel you! for as long as i can remember all i ever wanted was a big wedding and blah blah blah! never ever thought it was going to be as stressful as it has been! try and relax i know how hard that is, but just let whatever happends happen at this point! i have 2 days left and i am counting down the seconds till i am on that plane on our way to the honeymoon! the good thing is, is there is a light at the end of the tunnel! the wedding will come and it will be perfect! and then you get to relax and enjoy each other on the honeymoon!!

Re: The month before the wedding (long vent)?

I am approaching the 3 month mark and my smooth process has been shot to ****.

FH and I had a huge blow out last night BUT...I think all is going to be OK from now on. The problems have nothing to do with FH and I. Its others affecting our sanity. I just have to let everything roll off me like water..

I am no longer asking opinions about anything- Everything will be mine and FH's decision and an FYI to everyone else. If they don't like it that is too bad for them.

When I have been in weddings in the past all I did was say: tell me what to wear and what time to be where and I will be there. Why others can't do the same is beyond me.

The point of having this wedding though is to celebrate the fact that I have found the love of my life and we are going to pledge to always love and support each other and start our own family.

I am trying not to lose the purpose of this whole thing..

Why no facial? I am getting one like 7-10 days out from my wedding.

Actually at my bachelorette party, my girls were like why does your skin look so good...facials are the onlllllllly thing that helps my nasty skin!
