The most random of random things to say

I conducted an interview this morning with a potential employee.
I was talking about our big old MAC and I don't know what I said about it that got this response but the woman answered:
'I am ideologically opposed to AOL.'

I didn't know what to do with that. So I said, 'Yeah, me, too...' We don't have AOL in our office; but I hired her and random girl starts tomorrow.
At the very least, I'll be entertained.

PS - Suzbride - I hope you enjoyed that one.

I did enjoy that - as I do have an all-encompassing love of all things random ().

Her list of things to which she is ideologically opposed must be pretty damn long if aol ranks up on there! Perhaps she just wanted to ensure you that she would be working and not yapping all day on aol

Well, that would be a shame since I hired her because she said the most entertaining thing I'd heard in days....She's of no use to me if she doesn't come out with a crazy line or two each day!

A reliable random-line spouter is hard to find! Perhaps a follow-up interview will evoke some randomness!

Sigh - I wish we had a little more random amusement on LIW - the NWR board is SOOO slow. Hmmm..... I will have to rack my brain for a random poll to get the masses posting!

Please do - it's too quiet on this board...where are Liz, Lori, Farah, Heidi, Annie and the bunch when you need to laugh???

I don't think that new random employee will ever live up to Crazy McCoworker.

Personally anyone who is ideologically opposed to Disney or IBM, but understands the need to use them like the cheap whores they are also scores points in my book. Big points!

Isn't it great that I actually have a large say in the hiring in my department , since my boss is indecisive & we don't have an HR department?

I also give preference to lefties.
