The Most touching event

I went to a mass this morning. The reverend deacon who is going to Marry me was ordained a priest today. He is really young and so kind hearted. And he has the sweetest italian accent.
It hit me that in 3 months and some change I will be having my own ceremony. I know sometimes we get wrapped up in the glamour of a wedding, but the true beauty of the spiritual bond of a wedding really hit me today.
He was doing personal blessings and when I came up he was happy and surprised to see me. I would not have missed it for the world. When he was done blessing over me I was in tears. I have never taken the time to realize that the words of a priest could be so powerful especially when they are personal. I called my FH and told him that I def will be the crier on our wedding day, he told me that we've been planning for so long and the day is coming so soon that it all seems unreal.

I forgot we are his first wedding as a priest.

Aw that is sweet that you went to watch this happen to him-its a big event. I had the same realization when we went to our last mass for pre-cana, it really is a beautiful thing

Ever since I've been engaged, I've cried almost every Sunday at Mass because I can't wait until it's OUR nuptial Mass.... for me, that is what I am most looking forward to!

Wow..this is so true...about getting caught up in the glamour.. That is soo touching of a story...and so awesome you will be his first marriage to perform...it will be extra special
