the nerve !!!!

just need to vent ...

a few months ago, my fh, his siblings, parents and i drove all the way to baltimore for the weekend to attend a cousin's wedding...we took off from work, drove 5 hours each way, paid for a hotel, brought gifts, etc....

now that it's our turn, the cousin, his wife, his parents, etc...they all replied with a big fat NO - no explanation or anything!!!! i don't care about gifts and stuff like that, but that sort of selfishness really gets under my skin!!

We had the same thing happen to my husband's parents. They were not pleased at all. But, what can you do? Just shrug it off and think of the money you're saving by not having to pay for their dinners. That's what we did. . . . .

I hate when people response NO and don't even write an explanation! I think it's so rude!!

Perhaps there's a legit reason and you'll hear about it later? They should have at least indicated something on the response card. Here I am, trying to be soothing, meanwhile, it would have annoyed me BIG TIME!!

I completely understand. My rsvp date was a couple of days ago....and of course all the nos decide to respond now.

Some of my nos are from friends (not very close, but close) who cannot make it. No explanation, just a big NOT attending. How rude.

I guess not everyone has manners.

I hear ya on that. The same thing happened with our first cousin. We went all the way to Ohio..paid for hotel/airfare. Then they turn around and said NO to us!!!!

Some people just don't get it! I think it is as simple as that. Sometimes I wonder what goes on inside people's heads!

Im a very upfront person just call them up and ask them why.That is not right at all just a persons ignorance.Good luck !

My Godparents replied NO and didn't even send a gift and really didn't give an explanation!!! They knew about the wedding for some time so I am not sure why they wouldn't be able to make it. I am not too close to them so it doesn't bother me to much but if they do not send a gift at all I think that is very rude.

Not everyone believes in doing the right thing. Shrug it off and don't go to their events in the future if you are upset. It is rude but honestly, planning a wedding shows you a ton of rude people.

That's terrible. Try not to let it bother you so much. I can see why it would sting a little bit. No explanation is just rude though!!

Yes, people are unbelievable sometimes. At least you know now rather then them saying they are coming and maybe the week of deciding they cant. That happened to us and it is more frustrating because the dinner count is already in.
