When I booked they told me that they don't do tastings b/c you can come back and eat in the restaurant whenever you like to taste the food. It does stink, but I have never heard a bad thing about their food so I am pretty ok with no tastings!
I wonder if they provide dinner 'on the house' or at some sort of a discount for bride to be's using their facility...anyone know?
???? I never asked...I just figured since it was a restaurant that they wouldn't offer free meals but you may be right...it is definitely worth looking into!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
I'm actually kind of frustrated with Fox Hollow. When I called a week ago to double check my ceremony start time (for a vendor)no one could give me a straight answer. Then when I called to ask about the chocolate fountain I want to rent from Audrey's - no one knew what it was. Our first banquet coordinator left & now I never get the same person twice. They gave me a random person who transferred me to one of the Perfect Wedding Planner staff. The lady there answered my question but told me she had no idea what it was or why 'on earth' we'd need it. If we felt the need for additional desserts she said we should just add the Viennese hour.
Just thought I'd vent - maybe someone had a better experience recently!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
i hope that things start to go better for you. i haven't had to do much with them yet, but i'm going to call in august to schedule something with stacy for finals. hopefully it will all go well. we shall see...i had to fix some stuff over at the hotel with reservations, and it turns out that they are booked for the night of my wedding so i can't even add more rooms to the block...11 are already taken and there are 14 left and invites haven't gone out yet.

Prior to my fiance and I booking with FH, our banquet manager took us out to dinner at their restaurant (we didn't pay a dime). The food was amazing.
Trust me, we made them flip over backwards for us before we actually signed on the dotted line.
I would suggest talking to your banquet manager, perhaps, they'll comp you.

Newbride:I know the feeling you are having. My wedding is on October 31, 2004, and I have been concerned and pre-occupied with having this date for my wedding. I keep trying to remember that the most important thing is getting married and not when the wedding is. Remember also that anyone who really needs to be there will be there no matter what the date. Good luck!!! Let us know your final decision.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
I was so excited to see a Fox Hollow Thread!! I hope we all have glorious days!! It was so nice to read this thread and see that everybody was and is happy with the Fox Hollow!!!!I am getting married there on October 30th at night. My CH is in the beautiful room with the high windows that looks like a garden, and my reception is in the briar fox room.
I was, and to be honest still am, nervous about having a large band in the briar fox room. I have decided to put my bridal party in the tables in front of the band. I also hope they have enough room - I would love to have the room to just not put tables there. Its nice that they spread the speakers around the room though.
For those in the Briar Fox room (or the other rooms for that matter) are you doing seat covers? And are you going to do a chocolate fountain? (I know the Fox doesnt' include it - but if you did it where in the world would you put it?)

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
jen22, I could totally relate to your dilemma ... I love the Fox Hollow and am thrilled to be having my wedding there but have been a little concerned about room capacity. When we booked, we assumed we'd have about 125 - 130 guests but after re-drafting our list...the number grew to the 200's..We will definitely be trimming
As to your specific concerns, is it possible for you to reduce the number of people that play in the band on your wedding? I don't know how many of each you have in the band (like singers, guitarists) but do they give you an option to add on or reduce the number of instruments, singers, etc.? I'm using a DJ so I don't know much about bands but wanted to throw this out there anyway.
Also, I would reconsider where I place my bridal party. I know this is a tough call because somebody has to sit near the band but I would consider all options if you haven't already, jmo
Good luck and I'm sure everything will work out just fine

I also blocked rooms at the Best Western down the street. It is $109. I wish most of our guests would stay at the Inn, but I think it's important to give them a choice.
When you block rooms, do you have to pay? Or do the guests pay for the room? I am so confursed.

You do not have to pay anything. Your guests have until a specific date to book the room and get the reduced rate. I guess they do it to get the business.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread
most hotels will release the block of rooms 1 month prior to the date the block is for. if guests do not reserve a room before that date they may not get a room or they will have to pay a higher rate.
