I can not tell you how many people I have heard say they want to move to Canada, including my DH!! Personally, I am not happy with Bush, but I would never leave my country because of it, I'll just have to make due with what we have be given, as much as I hate it. And hey, in 4 years he'll be outta here!!

I'm considering Canada. If you get hurt - guess what happens? You go to the hospital. Guess who pays? The Government. They believe it is their responsibility to care about and care for their citizens!

I'm considering Canada. If you get hurt - guess what happens? You go to the hospital. Guess who pays? The Government. They believe it is their responsibility to care about and care for their citizens!

I have a couple of really good friends in Canada. Its not all that simple.

The Canadian healthcare system is free... but it kinda sucks.

If you need something more important... like surgery... good luck getting the government to approve it right away... unless its an absolute emergency.

Plus you think US taxes are bad? Ontario has a 15% tax on EVERYTHING you buy. Thats a lot of tax! Plus the canadian dollar is not worth nearly as much as the american dollar... so if you work up there you make less.

All the info on Canada's health care you state is very wrong. I work in the health care insurance industry and know TOO much about Canada's rules and such. Their healthcare system is very good and their rate of
mal-practice is outstandingly low, which means to them at least that the Dr's are getting the job done so to speak.

We have a lot of friends and business associates living in Canada, plus it's a known fact that Canadians are SEVERLY loyal to the country...they wouldnt be if they had something to complain about.

you know what I vaguely remember this in my healthcare statistics class. Canada was seen as one of the more healthcare positive countries and our assignment was to fix the US healthcare system using methods that worked for other countries.

What I find scary .. is that in his first term, Bush had a second-term to consider .. now, even though he gets that second-term .. he's a lame duck .. and what motivation does he have to do right by America?? Well like I said... i don't have any experience with it personally. I am only going by word of mouth. And the word of mouth I am hearing is that even though its a free system... its not all its cracked up to be.

Plus like I said before... the canadian dollar sucks... and they tax the hell out of you. Forget free healthcare, i dont think I could live in Canada just for those two reasons alone.
