The NY Times Called!!

We're in!! Our wedding announcement will be in the Times NEXT Sunday-- the day after our wedding!!

So excited!!

wow I just had a 'sex and the city' flashback when Charlotte gets the call when she found they would be in the paper too.

Oh right!!

well, in real life- it doesn't quite work like that-- I need copies of both our college degrees, the HR people at both our jobs, etc. Like- where the hell is my college diploma?/

Do you need to live in NYC to appear in the Times? I always wondered how that worked.

I don;t think you need to live in NYC-- we do... but I have seen other people in there that do not live here.

It tells you on the website--you basically write up the info. yourself, then email or mail it in, along with a pic (they have very specific criteria for the pictures). You don't have to live in NY.

NY Times is free to print the announcements! ETA: It is pretty competitive, and you stand a better chance if you submit a photo (which is listed as optional). Also, if it is a less popular season for weddings you stand a better chance.

there was no mention of any money-- they just pick you from the people that submit.. At least on the Times web site-- there is no charge mentioned in the info.

There is definitely no charge. Ours was in in November.

Maybe it costs money to get it in New York Magazine?

Newspaper Publications do not charge to print announcements!
