Ok. Lets say you were offered a job but it was only for 6 months. They offered you a crazy insane salary for those 6 months that is more than you make in a whole year. But there was a lot of travel involved for 3 of those 6 months, say 5 days a week away from home. On one hand you'd be away from FH a lot and it would be very stressful. On the other hand you'd have your wedding paid in full with money left over and not have any budget worries for your wedding. What would you do?
3/4/05 UPDATE..........So FH and I talked about it and he told me to GO FOR IT. I'm meeting with the woman tonight to go over details!!!! I'm so excited, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be one of those too good to be true situations.
WISH ME LUCK!!!

would the work itself be soemthing that you enjoy? that could make 6 months seem like a lifetime, or make it flyyyyyy by.
It would be something totally different than I do now. But I hate my job now so anything would be better at this point.
So this isnt hypothetical, its real!?!?! How exciting! When do you have to decide by??
Well I tried to make it hypothetical but it didn't work too well. I have a meeting in the next 2 weeks to get all the exact info and the exact $$ (I have a very good idea about the $$ part). I still haven't decided. But I think it would be worth it to relieve all the money related stress that we have right now.

Well GOOD LUCK!!!! And remember everyone is different and in different situations so although you tried to make it hypothetical....only you really know your situation and whats best for you and your FH!

I would definitely do it if FH was supportive.
I would have to agree
I agree as well. He usually is very supportive of me. So I don't think it would be a problem.

I'm not 100% sure yet but as soon as I get all the info I'll be sure to let everyone know. I hope it's not one of those 'If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is' deals.

Re: The Offer of a lifetime. Question&Poll
I'd do it. 2 - 3 nights a week at home would work for a few months (assuming you don't live with FI now).
FI & I do not live together but spend most nights at my place (except recently since he's been working late nights and out of town). I think we have been spending only 2 - 3 nights a week together for at least a month now. It's not horrible.

Definitely do it. If you HATE your current job there is no reason not to look for something that could be more fun and at the same time relieve a lot of financial stress.

Re: The Offer of a lifetime. Question&Poll
I think I would definatly do it. Esp if it is good money for only 6 months. I mean you have the rest of your lives together and if he wanted he could travel up to you a few times and get to see you and visit a new place.

I would do it--no questions asked......a travel opportunity plus lots of money---and a relatively short period of time. Yup--definitely.

I would totally do it. I had a long distance relationship with FH for two years before he moved here. So you can totally keep the romance alive. What a great opportunity! Let us know what you decide.

I would definitely do it. 6 months is a drop in the bucket when you consider that you and your FH will be together all of your lives. If my FH were given this opportunity I would tell him to go and I'd be incredibly proud of him.
and there's a lot to be said for some visits!!!!

Re: The Offer of a lifetime. UPDATE!!!!!!! 3/4/05
Well I met with the lady tonight. It is going to start in late April. She works as a promotion/advertising person. She basically goes to trade shows representing very well known Hotel chains and airlines and vendors try to get her to promote for their smaller companies. For example, they want her to use their brand of little bags of peanuts for the airlines and she then in turn makes a profit if the airline decides to go with that company, her logo goes on the little bags. For hotels she provides the little shampoos in the rooms and stuff. She does all the little things that you really don't think of like pens and buttons. But it's massive quantities. I'm going to be like her apprentice because her company is growing so quickly and she needs the extra help. I can't wait, I'm so excited.

Absolutely go for it! You sound excited about it, FH is supportive of it. Do it! It will look great on your resume too.
