Can't wait to read some new review of FP!!!

My FH and I found a great snorkel set at Sharper Image that I want to get. It's slightly more than other sets I've seen, BUT it has the cute fins, a ventilated carry bag, the snorkel that doesn't let water get in, etc. It's a perfect size for packing too, unlike the other ones I was looking at. For $59, I'm trying to convince FH that we really need to buy them!

ETA: Here's the link in case anyone wants to check it out... Wish they had a better picture of it, and showed the bag - I thought that was the best part.

We just paid off the honeymoon last week. We got all our tickets and vouchers for the hotels. I bought floats too so we can float around the lagoon. 29 more days until we leave. I can't wait.

Does anyone have any ideas where they are going to eat besides Villa Mahana and Bloody Marys?

I'm so happy someone else likes it! I was sooo excited when I found it b/c it's sooo much nicer than other sets I've seen and looks comfy (silicone gaskets around your eyes etc). It's pretty flat too, so I think it would be easy to pack.

These look perfect! I've been searching and the ones i saw were either really cheap (price and look wise) or really expensive. Thanks for posting! Gotta show FH the find!

I'm trying to make a list of things i need to buy for the honeymoon.
1) Will you be buying and bringing your own snorkel gear? If so...where would i be able to purchase one?
2) What about water aqua shoes??
3) How much sunblock do i need to bring? I bought 2 bottles of Neutrogena SPF 55 from Costco the other day. Do i need more? Probably do right?
4) How much cash are you planning to bring? Can i put everything on a credit card? Are there some places (like local grocery stores) that do not accept CC? If so, do i need to exchange the cash or do they accept US$?
6) Does anyone know if the resorts allow earlier check-in? The reason why i'm asking is that my flight arrives in Tahiti at 530am and we're planning to take the earliest ferry to Moorea (probably be the 730am ferry) and hopefully be able to check in our bags and start the day. If we're not able to check in i don't know what we will be able to do for all those hours with our luggage in tow.

SOrry so many questions...I'm getting really antsy about this trip. I'm really excited and i'm trying to put everything together!

Sorry I haven't been on the boards in a while so I'm just seeing this post now....figured it was not too late to answer since I already went - figured I could be of some help:
1) We brought our own snorkel gear - bought it from amazon.com for somewhere around $15. The ones the tours offer looked dirty and old so we were so glad we brought our own!
2) Same thing for water shoes - we brought our own and were SO glad we did!
3) you DEFINITELY need more sunblock than that! DH and I had 3 bottles of 30 and 2 bottles of 15 and we still ran out - we were scraping it off the inside of the tube the last 2 days. You don't want to run out and have to buy more there b/c it is $35 for a small size bottle in all the shops there. The sun is SO much stronger than we're used to here. You need to reapply during the day so we felt like we went thru 1 bottle bet. the 2 of us in 3 days! It was crazy! Def. get some more! If I had to do it again I'd bring like 5 bottles of 30 just to play it safe. Don't bring anything lower than 30...you'll fry!
4) We brought about $1k in cash and exchanged $500 of it when we arrived in Papeete at the airport. We never needed to exchange more. We charged everything but yes some grocery stores only accept cash. At the end we had some cash left so we just paid it towards our last hotel bill so we were not stuck with Polynesian $.
5) We were able to check in early at each hotel but we were there in low season. You may not be able to during high season with more people at each resort. But if you can't it's no big deal - they will hold your bags for you. Just be sure to have a bathing suit and some sunscreen handy and head to the pool until your room is ready!

HAVE FUN!
I should be posting my very long and very detailed review with pics soon on the Bride's Review board!
