Brooklyn girl too! Live near the Brooklyn Bridge and got engaged on the bridge. Dreamed of having my wedding at the Tobacco Warehouse in Fulton Ferry State Park near the Brooklyn Bridge but it's just a tent and then I would have to do EVERYTHING! I hate having to go to LI to do all the wedding plans - a bit inconvenient, oh well.

Welcome Brooklyn girls! I admit also that it is tough traveling to all the vendors in LI especially when you only need a quote or to compare work. But we all know Brooklyn is very limited in this department.

Bklyn girl here. from Windsor Terrace but lived in Bay Ridge the last 9 years before moving to LI this past summer. I miss Bklyn terribly. Everything was so convenient(especailly all the great stores on 3rd ave)
Anyway, my church was in Brooklyn, as well as the reception. We had it at Sirico's and t was FABULOUS! The food was exceelent and we got so many commments on how much food there was and how delicious everything was. So see not every hall in BKLYN is terrible, you just have to look .

My FH and I wanted to have the wedding at the Tobacco Warehouse too!!!! We fell in love with the view when we saw it, but unfortunately, it would have been too expensive to have to do EVERYTHING. It is absolutely beautiful though...we always say if we win the lottery, that's where we'll do it!!

I'm a newbie Brooklyn resident - can I post here too?? We sign our lease tomorrow for our new apartment in Carroll Gardens. I am SOOOOOO Excited. I love the neighborhood from what I have seen so far, especially all the restaurants on Smith St. There is this really cool coffee shop on Court St. that me & FI went into last weekend, they were roasting their own beans in this huge machine-cool
I move in December, FI will follow in Feb after the wedding. If anyone has any favorite places in the area that they would like to recommend, I'd love to hear it!
Hi!
I moved to Carroll Gardens a year ago after 4 years in Williamsburg. You will love the neighborhood! I guess it all depends on what you like.. but some of my favorite places are Union Smith Cafe (Yummy New American), Brooklyn Social (Very Laid back bar, with great specialty drinks), Panino Teca (small plates Italian, wine, cheese plates, Paninis, BELLINIS!), Zombie Hut (oh Mai Tais!), Bagels on the Park (AWESOME Bagels), Brooklyn Bread.. so many amazing restaurants.. if you have any questions feel free to FM me!! Cheers

I went to HS and college in SI while I was living in Brooklyn.
What HS did you go to? I went to a small christian school (my mom was VERY religious at that time) that no one heard of
