The Official 'I Hate Jergens Natural Glow' Thread

OK girls, I was gone a week .. I was in Jergens Lotion thread withdrawal

But for the record, I have to say that I've grown to really HATE THIS STUFF!!

At first, I was hooked on it... I thought it was the perfect product I found it at Pathmark (per June262004's advice) and started using it sparingly, and I did notice a nice natural glow (as advertised). It was a definitely an improvement over my very pale, white winter skin and since I was going to Florida, I wanted some 'color'

However after repeated use (every few days or so), not only did I really start getting that fake tan/ORANGE look .. I started breaking out slightly on my face, chest and arms. I generally have pretty clear skin so to break out really upset me. Not to mention, my legs looked REALLY nasty and around my ankles it just looked DIRTY. So by the time I was on vacation I had to stop using this stuff altogether because I looked SO FAKE , NON healthy and absolutely NOT NATURAL AT ALL. NOt to mention, I felt like I STUNK from the smell - even after I showered

That said, I am done with the stuff. I will either remain pasty white for the duration of the summer, or will risk it and bake in the sun for some 'real' color.

For all I know, the backlash might have begun already (I didn't do a search for posts - sorry!) But for the record, I just had to state JUST SAY NO to JERGENS NATURAL GLOW

Oh no. I'm so sorry that it did that to you.
I actually never found it so I gave up.
I guess I will also wait until the summer.

Not your fault girl! At first it looked great on my arms. Its just not working for me, maybe I did something wrong?

I wasn't even using it every day.. but it got really orangey on me, and I just hate that look so I stopped

Trust me, I'm sad as well ... I thought it was such a great product. And I was only using the pale one and it still got nasty on me

Thanks for the heads up!!!! I've been going crazy looking for that stuff to see what all the fuss is about!! I rather ' fake n bake' anyway

I usually do hate self tanners of all kinds but i thought i would give it a shot

That's what happened to me! I applied it really carefully also, I was SO cautious yet I got a weird streak on my face and it annoyed me SO much (esp being on vacation) that I just gave up on it altogether. That and i had such weird patches around my ankles that I was embarrassed to wear my sandals and capris it looked so nasty

I was so trying to stay away from the tanning salon or laying out since I KNOW its bad for you , and last year I overdid it bf the wedding .. but I hate to say it just looks better and I had such nice even color..

I WISH I could embrace my pale skin but I just look so sickly when I'm this pale...

I agree oscar except that NO JOKE... I will sit in the sun for hours turn the color of a tomato and then the next day be back to the same white color again. Some of us just can't. I have and never will fake and bake though

My SIL is the same way. Shes one of 2 colors white as milk or red as a fire truck.

That just reminded me... I brought my son to the park today and there was a lady... she must have been 600 years old. In her bathing suit on a lawn chair in the middle of the park trying to catch a tan
