Re: the people bringing...
don't think anyone will be asking their religion that day...so I would say no. But...now that I am thinking about it...it kinda is a really religious thing they are bringing up (the bread and body of Christ--pretty much the most religious thing in the Church) so maybe it is a little weird if they don't believe in it. that's a tough one...

yeah, I think they do.... we're having a problem with the gifts, becuase I wanted our parents to bring them up, but my mom isn't catholic.... so it really isn't proper (dad was catholic, and mom begrudgingly tagged along at church... To this day, she still doesn't know the basic mass order, or how to find hymnal lyrics in the book....)
Not sure what to do.... I also don't want to draw attention to that fact, since FMIL is really religious, and wouldn't approve of her not converting after all these years...

at precana they told us it should be someone who's at least 6 or 7 years old since they should have received their communion by then.

based on that, it sounds like they have to be Catholic. I never even thought of that...
Random related question: is your parish providing eucharistic ministers or is it just the priest who will be giving out communion?
