The people in my office are questioning/being nosy......

It is so annoying, I went downstairs, to get lunch and a lady asks me, if this will be my 1st or 2nd marriage.

Then, they want to know where exaclty, am I going on the . I would never ask people these kinds of nosy questions.

Is anyone else going through the same screening?

It starts off like this: So, I hear you are getting married!!!!

I don't mind general questions, but when they get personal it is so annoying.....

Hmmm. I guess we are the opposite. I run around sharing all the wedding planning details with my female coworkers. I am not a very private person though, so if someone asks me something about it, I absolutely oblige. LOL!

Yes, I think...we are opposite, that is why I think, they have to pick and pick at me. My answers are so short and brief. They don't know what to say next.

I work in a small office plus I like to talk so guess what I talk about lol but I can understand how annoying it is when someone keeps asking you stuff you dont feel like sharing...

The 'Is this marraige #2' question is rude but I think it's normal to express some interest in co-workers. The co-worker was probably trying to be friendly.

Do you talk to these people on a regular? If not, I would question that. I would say,' Excuse me are you talking to me? We do not talk on a regular? What concern is it of yours? Are you writing a book or you are just being a nosy a$$? We do not talk on a regular so let's leave it like that!!!!' You won't have to worry about that question again. Not from her or any one else.

I found out why, people are starring at me, and inquiring little questions here and there.....

They sent out an e-mail to everyone in the office, regarding my shower. I hope...it will be a surprise for me. Because I am nervous. Just thinking about it.

ahh, that makes sense! still doesn't give anybody the right to ask if its your first marriage.

Some people just don't have any class. Try not to let them get to you.

Personally, I would be completely offended about the first/second marriage comment.... I would probably retort with something like, Is being tactless something you work at, or were you born that way?

Me too, I love when people ask me about the wedding and the honeymoon, I have no problem talking about it!

When I read your first post I was going to say that they probably are throwing you a shower and lo and behold they are!!!!

I think the question about is it your first or second marriage is really rude though! What did you reply?

I think it's cool when people ask about details of the wedding. But I agree that it's tacky if someone asks if it's your 2nd marriage, or if you're planning on having kids right away, or how much something cost (regarding the wedding). I added on the last two...

I hate when strangers (LIW are not strangers ) ask me about kids & $. Who the hell are you that you need to know???

At first I didn't mind being asked questions about my wedding but when you get asked the same questions over and over and over again it can get a little annoying. Especially when the same people ask. Honestly if your not going to remember the answer then stop asking me questions!

Well my fiance`s brothers wife was really nosy and bossy when she found out about us getting married. She told us well we shouldn't have an engagement party b/c MFH was paying for my engagement ring. Then she asks how much we are going to spend on music, which is none of her business. Then she said don't go w/ this vedoe b/c they are too expensive. It was really getting out of hand.

I can't wait to see the girl who asked me if this will be my 2nd marriage...because I will calmy ask her...how many times, have you been married . I was so shocked, she would ask that question, I just responded, that this will be marriage #1.

It is funny, because that same day, someone else asked me, a guy if this will be my 2nd or first marriage. I am only 30. But, he said, that is okay some people marry at 16/17 years old. I know, I know, Iam surrounded by idiots

But, the only thing I do not tolerate is being asked, how much I paid for something. I would just either answer them : in the amound of the words Alot or a little.

i noticed that the people you work with are the nosiest people they love to gossip like high school. if you don't want to divulge any info say you don't feel comfortale talking about it or say that you arent sure yet. or that you think its bad luck to tell all the details. good luck either way but i know how you feel
