So I'm just wondering. When do you know you've found the right dress?
I hear women say that the moment they put it on, they and whomever it is they are with are all like 'WOW, this is it!', and I'm just wondering if this is true for everyone.
I went to David's Bridal today and tried on several dresses. A lot of them looked nice on me, but I didn't have that 'OMG' moment, and neither did my mom or sister. We did like one more than the rest... but I don't know if means I found THE dress.

Re: the perfect Wedding Dress
I felt that way. I've also felt that way when buying other gowns.. I have one gown, which I'm not ashamed to admit I've worn to like 5 weddings that was not even halfway on me and I gasped because I knew I LOVED it.
I felt he same way with my wedding gown. I knew I really loved it. It was from David's. I had some doubts sometimes because I originally imagined something blingier, but I really like it.

Re: the perfect Wedding Dress
I did not have the 'This is the One' moment..but I did try on like 50-70 dresses. When I went back to show one to my mom..she loved it (just said it was beautiful..she didn't want to influence my decision) after I put down the deposit..I knew it was the one b/c I couldn't wait to know when it was going to be here.
So not everyone gets that feeling

I am not very sentimental. I knew it was the dress when I went home and couldn't stop thinking about it!

You will know when it is the right one. You will feel sooo pretty, can't stop looking at yourself in it. It will put a big smile on you face and a tear in you eye.
I did have the 'this is the one' moment, but it did not strike me as intensely as they show on tv. The other dresses that were 'maybe's that I was thinking about all looked good, but it was weird: when I looked in the mirror I saw 'dress' - then had to look up to my face, then back down to 'dress' - never ME IN the dress (if that makes sense). When I put on 'my' dress, I could see all of me and the dress in the mirror all at the same time. It was just me, and it was what I knew I'd be up on the altar in. It was also the only dress that I said 'I love it' when I first put it on. Everything else was 'oh wow, this could work', but not the L word. It wasn't tears or anything huge, but it was definitely different than the other frontrunners.

I can tell you that it is true. I just got my dress today and when I put it on a looked at myself and started to cry. I had tried it on yesterday and was unsure. But today. Oh today I knew. My mother and I both cried. We knew. That was THE DRESS!!!

Re: the perfect Wedding Dress
I had that with my dress actually. I found it online. I had my heart set on a certain style (thin, summery, silhouetty for a garden wedding). And I knew it was perfect. I see other dresses I like.. but I don't really see them as being right for me. I don't know if every girl experiences this though...some girls are lucky enough to find multiple dresses they love.

Re: the perfect Wedding Dress
I didn't know i had the perfect dress until the week of the wedding. i was VERY doubtful about it the whole time. i bought it with the intentions of making changes and that scared me... i wasn't sure if it was going to turn out how I envisioned it. I think you just have to throw caution to the wind and trust yourself.

Re: the perfect Wedding Dress
I was lucky...
I had a friend that worked at Paradise Bridal. When I first got engaged I showed her pictures of dresses I 'sort of' liked, and explained what I really wanted. One day a new dress came into the store and she called and told me it was mine. I came in- tried it on and she was right. Tried on a few more Sottero's to be sure it was the right one. I was happy and mom was happy - I think that's it :)

I never had that OMG moment. I love my dress, but I never had that moment that a lot of brides speak of. I am just not that kind of person I guess.

Re: the perfect Wedding Dress
I must have tried on over 30 dresses and the first one I tried on at first I was like this is the one then all of a sudden I tried on the last dress and it made me cry and my mom cry and I felt like a bride and I just knew that was my dress so I do believe that you just know when it is your dress.

Re: the perfect Wedding Dress
I knew my dress was perfect cause it felt the most comfy on and I felt like a 'bride' in it.

Re: the perfect Wedding Dress
My best friend cried. Everyone in the store stopped and stared and went 'oooh.' Everyone I was with loved it, and I really loved how it looked on me. It fit perfectly. I still had doubts because I didn't get 'the one' feeling, but I doubt I'd ever get that feeling.

Re: the perfect Wedding Dress
I definitely had some second thoughts about my dress but I was in love w/ it. My dress is very non traditional, I am obsessed w/ the color pink and my dress has alot of pink in it. But when I tried it on, it was so me and every dress I looked after afterward just wasn't the same.
