The Pill

Just started the pill today (desogen).
Should I be concerned with gaining weight or mood swings?

Everyone is different and you may experience nothing ever or just a little. My roommate and I used to be on the same pill and I was a miserable person on it w/ mood swings and water weight and she was fine. It depends on your body. Needless to say, I switched to a new brand and I was fine while others were miserable!!
You should try a low does pill first to see how your body reacts to it since this is your first time.

i just re-started mine today too
i didnt really gain weight from it and i get alot less mood swings when im on it - no cramps either

as said before, it completely depends on the person and on the pill.

I'd be prepared for a whole range of side effects. That way, if they don't happen then you're happy and relieved, and if they do happen, then you won't be upset and caught by surprise.

For me, reactions I've had to various hormonal bc's:
- tender breasts, especially around my period
- loss of sex drive
- mood swings
- increased heartrate (on nuvaring. I went off that one after 2 months. very much not for me)
- panic attacks (nuvaring again)
- weight loss (nuvaring. increased heartrate kicked up my metabolim)
- headaches

So, just be prepared, and hopefully you won't have to deal with any of it!

I think I took Desogen a LOOOOONNNNGGGG time ago and it worked really well for me..

Give your body a couple of months to acclimate itself taking the pill.. your body will regulate

i got moody on the pill and i gained weight i was off of it for a few months and i started getting really bad heahachs but im back on it and im all better!
