The police stole my jewelery box!

In late June, my apartment was broken into. Only my laundry $ was taken. I thought cash & checks were taken, but I found them when I cleaned up the mess.

The Police took my jewelrey box which had been thrown around & a small drawer from a painted wood vertical 3 drawer trinket holdign box, to dust for fingerprints.

They said I'd get them back in a month.
Never heard back. Due to marriage & moving, didn't get a chance to call untill yesterday.

DH said the wpman he spoek to was the nastiest person he's ever encountered & he even used to work in reail!

She yelled at him for even attempting to get our stuff back. She need info that we were never given like an incident #. He says the detective told us his name, but he doesn't remember it. I don't remember being told that at all.

We know the date, but that doesn't help. DH was told it may have been sent to the county.

I don't think I am ever getting my jewelry box back. It was a gift from DH a few years back.

What really gets me is that the police took more that the burgalers!

First of all...

Now you get out there and serve up your own brand of STREET JUSTICE! Call the county, the precinct, the chief...everyone!!

OMG!! I'm so sorry!! But wait, there must've been some kind of report filed even if they didn't give you the incident number! Call back and see if you get someone else or go down there!!

I hope you can get your jewelry box back!

Thanks ladies. The lady said she will call back. She won't, but we will giver her a few days , thencall back. DH is hoping someone else will be more helpful.

I was thinking of calling the county, but I figure I'd probably need even more info than I would with the city, so I think we should see if we can get any further with them.
