so when i saw the priest that will me marring me he had the nerve to tell me and my FH that we can't have our rehearsal the day before the wedding because he plays golf on Fridays and Nothing or No one will interrupt his game and i was like are you serious i mean traditionally you are suppose to have it then so he say ' well you can have it the Saturday before the wedding' i was like are you serious you have to be joking and he was like no i am not and just changed the subject if this wasn't the church i wanted to be married in since i was a little girl i would have flipped out and told him i was not getting married there and then to add to the headache he gave me he said we have to pay $350 DONATION to the church ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME.... i thought a donation is what you can not what the ask......

My church only does rehearsals on Saturdays too, so I'm having mine a week before my wedding. I think it'll actually work out well though - this way we can enjoy the RD even more and not have to worry about the craziness of the wedding the next day.
Oh and be thankful your 'donation' is only $350. Mine is $500, but there are others ranging up to $1K

All churches require a donation - it's phrased ridiculously, but not uncommon. Ours is actually more than $350. Ridiculous about not being able to have the rehearsal b/c he plays golf though! What about the Thursday before the wedding? That's when ours is going to be - and that way you can just relax the night before.

Wow $500 thats just crazy and whats even more crazy is $1000 i mean the whole meaning of a donation is what you can if thats the case they should just call it a fee instead... by the way congrats on your engagement

i asked about the Thursday and he was like ummm sorry he can't he has a meeting he is just making things so difficult... but i guess i will just settle with the week b4 so that way i can relax and have fun that night

my church doesn't do rehearsals on fridays either so we have to either do it the wednesday or thursday before the wedding which actually i'm totally fine with because the day before the wedding I just wanna chill. I'll be too nervous to do anything lol.

Yes your church does rehearsals on Friday! LOL - I already booked it - mine is at 7pm on Friday, the day before my wedding! Who told you that???
I thought they don't do it on Thursday b/c of the Stations of the Cross?

For golf, that's pretty obnoxious. And to blatantly tell you that, too! We're doing ours two days before the wedding, but our church was pretty flexible. And our donation was $500 as well!

Everybody involved in the wedding will have so much going on the day before the wedding, that it would have been difficult to have the rehearsal that day anyway. I understand that you're disappointed, but you will probably be able to enjoy the rehearsal more by having it the week before the wedding.
