It's like clockwork...FH takes out his laptop, sits on the sofa and Lucy will come trotting in (from eating, a dead sleep, bathing, etc) and plops down next to him. She either rubs her head on the wireless card that sticks out the side, rests her chin on the side and stares lovingly at FH, bites at his fingers as he types or walks across it. It's the weirdest thing and we can't figure out if it's the laptop she loves or FH!
What are some of the funny things your cat(s) does?

Re: The Quirky Cat...
Funny, mine does the SAME thing to my FH LOL! And of course FH says 'that's because he loves me more'! Not true! My cat just sees me more often so when he sees FH it's special
Also, TJ loves dripping water and like to 'catch' the droplets! He also plays fetch with a fuzzy ball, like a dog. The other cat is just a living breathing lump LOL, likes to sleep and eat. And occasionally meow for hours on end.
I might have to say its the laptop...Wu loves the laptop...with or without DH...we think its from the warmth...
my cat as a child used to sit on the same place on the floor...right above the pipes..

Mine does a similar thing except we have a desktop PC. She either lays on the top of the monitor or she lays on the desk with her head on the functin keys. She falls asleep and as soon as we move she gets up. Its the sweetest thing...

Re: The Quirky Cat...
My kitty has lots of little quirks. She also loves the laptop and loves to try to chew on the power cord,of course DH doesn't find it nearly as cute as I do She plays catch with her 'clicky' mouse, which is one of those furry play mice that has some kind of rattle thing inside. In fact, she has a shoe box full of her toys and sometimes I came home to find the whole thing emptied out on the floor, spread out, and one toy is in her dry food. She loves to play hide&seek with DH too. She creeps down low behind something, and he pretends to look for her and then she jumps out at him. It is soooo funny to actually watch. She and I have more quiet time together so we lie together and watch TV or she lays close to try to get some of my ice-cream.

Re: The Quirky Cat...
Cute stories!
Lucy likes to play hide & seek with me too...
She also catches air when I toss her some treats - I've seen her do back flips (literally!) for them! It's the funniest thing - looks like a dog catching a frisbee. Most of the time though, she grabs the treat in her paws and then eats it out of one of them. She also likes to take a mouthful of hard food and scurry into the livingroom where she drops the pellets on the floor and eats them a few at a time - again, like a dog (I had a few dogs growing up that did this).
Anyone else care to share?

Re: The Quirky Cat...
Newspaper, filing, any kind of paper on the floor is irresistable to my little guy. He must lay down on it! It was especially fun putting the wedding invitations together !!
He must, must, must sit in the bathroom sink when DH is taking a shower. He'll paw and cry if DH closes the door completely and he can't get in. For some reason, he doesn't need to be in there when I'm showering.
My kitty is also a talker...not just meows and purrs, he's got a full vocabulary for squeeks and squawks and coos. It's funny how he needs to announce himself when he enters a room.

I have a bunch, but my cat always walks back and forth in front of the computer moniter, and if you shoo him away, he lays on top of the moniter and lets his tail sway back and forth in front of it.

Re: The Quirky Cat...
I'm really enjoying all of your cat stories. DH and I are going to look at a cat tonight. An abyssinian. We've never had cats so I'm hoping ours is as much fun as yours seem to be.
Do any of you have difficulties with your cats we should know about?

Re: The Quirky Cat...
Hmmm...problems. Let's see...she's cries - a lot. Wants to be outside, when she's in (she's an indoor cat that I take out on a leash when the weather is nice)...she as a chronic health problem that drives me insane - she's on daily herbs & oils...but I love her to death. She brings so much happiness to my life.
The only thing I can say is...make sure ou want the cat - through thick & thin. It angers and saddens me when people just dump their cats - either at a shelter or side of the road - cause they just 'can't handle' them. Are your kids disposable too?!??
/stepping off the soap box now...good luck tonight - have fun!!

Re: The Quirky Cat...
My cat is soo cute! HE is 3 years old, but you would never know it since he still acts like a kitten..he looooooooves my hair rubber bands, but it hs to be the thicker ones...he will just way into the air just to catch one and he will bring it to us in be, and want to play fetch..he does this for about 20 mins then gets tired....he also whines/talks...he will not drink water out of his bowl, only out of the bathroom sink in a plastic margarita glass..has to be ICE COLD water...he also loves to play with the clicking mice...AND he has a thing with sticking his head under the printer and making the top open and then he likes to watch it print..it drives me NUTS!!!!! FH loves him to death...he can be such a good boy sometimes, but he can also be a TERROR!!!!

Re: The Quirky Cat...
Thanks for the stories. DH and I went to visit the kittens last night. We absolutely fell in love with the all of the kittens (and the adult cats too), but especially the little girl they had set aside for us. We will also adopt one of the little boys.
We won't have the kittens until July 1 - which gives us time to prepare our home for their arrival. Thanks for all of your great cat stories. We are so excited.
Let me know if anyone has tips on kitten-proofing our house.
