the RH list is getting shorter...help is needed....
FH and I are still deciding on RHs. So now i need the good & the bad (FM me if you dont feel like writing)... have you been to a wedding? had your wedding? how was the service? the food? etc? etc?
THANKS SO MUCH !!!!
The Metropolitan in Glen Cove Chateau Briand (Leonardo Room - 3rd floor)Stewart Manor Country Club Sandcastle
As you can see they are very very different, and we are still undecided. So, TIA!!!

I think I've gushed to you before about the Sandcastle, but I'll do it again
I think that you get a really great bang for your buck at Sandcastle. The new rooms are beautiful, the food is great, the selection is great and you get a week in Greece.
I also noticed on an older post that you are from Brooklyn (I went to Kearney too! Class of '02). The Sandcastle is super easy to get to from Brooklyn. I'm not sure where most of your family lives, but that was a big issue for me. I didn't want to have to have my guests travel for two hours in summer traffic to get from the church to the reception.
If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to FM me!

I've been to Chateau Briand for my MOH's wedding. The food was amazing ! It was so beautifully displayed. I distinctly remember the seafood paella at CH was fantastic!! The serviceswas good also. The cake she got with her package was good too it was carrot cake Hope this helps

I really liked CB, the outside is amazing, and the is great, FH's brother had their wedding there, he said it was fantastic.
Sandcastle's minimum was just too high for us, so we never saw it, don't know if they still have the free Greece trip.
I wish you luck, you'll find the one, it took me almost a year, and the one we want is not built which is funny.

I'm bias about my pick. But I am soooo happy to be a Sandcastle bride!!! Have you gone for a tasting at any of your 3 choices??? I would ask for a tasting in order to help you decide!!! We were between 2 choices and after the tasting we knew the Sandcastle was the place for us. I also love the one event thing and can't wait to go to Greece!!! Good luck!!

i agree w/ everything above. I fell in love with the Sandcastle immediately. It a fantastic value for all that you are getting.
I was at a wedding at chatue briand. I thought it was beautiful as well. the bride covered the walls of the ballroom with white fabric and uplighting so i dont know what it would have looked like without it. the food was ok. i had a stomach virus the day before so i cant be an unbaised opinion.

Don't know the second two - liked the Metropolitan club but more for a winter wedding when you won't go outside (they have almost no room outside) - for an April wedding, may want something if it is warm enough for people to step outside....just a thought.

I went to the Met, have you gone there yet? It is more impressive from picts than I thought in person.....inside & out. Just my opinion....but very affordable on the other hand....

I went to a wedding at Sandcastle two weeks ago and it was wonderful. The food was great and teh place is beautiful. Very modern and I cannot think of one complaint. Oh and their cocktail hour had everything you could imagine...the Vienese hour was also nice (but I was too full to try anything at that point).

My friend got married at the Metropolitan and I LOVED IT the food was awesome and I loved the setup of the room it was very different
One thing is the cocktail room (upstairs) is not that big so depending on how many people it might be tight.they got married on site not sure if that room could be used as cocktail room..it is bigger...
But I really loved this place very elegant

Re: the RH list is getting shorter...help is needed....
Of your choices, I've only been to Chateau Briand. My sister had her wedding there and I was her MOH. Apparently I've offended people in the past with honesty, so I'll try to be tactful. I loved that it had a photo studio with a mini CH set up for the immediate family, especially because it was the day after Thanksgiving and cold out. I thought that was a really nice touch and gave us all some time to relax before CH. I thought the layout was a little confusing, but we had great attendants who always made sure we were accompanied so we didn't get lost going from the studio to the bridal suite back downstairs to the CH and reception room (we were on main floor for both if I recall correctly).
I really like their bar, they're one of the few RHs that I've been to that serve full sized glasses of cocktails and wine, not those little mini glasses where one sip and its gone. Personally I didn't care for the food, but it could have been an off night, I don't know. Their Viennese hour was sick though. Really really amazing, and I liked that they provided little boxes to take home the extra pastries.
I hope that helped...sometimes my honesty is frowned upon, but I think she had a very nice wedding there.

My friend's sister got married at Chateau Briand and told me all about it. I didnt go to the wedding but she couldn't stop raving about it. She didnt have a single bad thing to say.
