The Riviera

The Riviera

I absolutely love how The Riviera looks. This is exactly what I am looking for and would love to have our wedding there. My only concern is that when I Google them, yelp has many reviews that speak negatively on their food and some staff concerns. Has anyone been there? What has been your experience?

Also, from the pics they post, it looks like there are a couple tables that are blocked from seeing the dance floor...is this accurate?

Anyone have any pics to post?(Anyone with summer/fall 2015 quotes, can you message me what you were quoted?)
Thanks Ladies!!!

I'm getting married at the Riviera! I went for a food tasting a couple weeks ago and thought everything was delicious. I've read the bad reviews but anyone I talked to in person raved about their food. I will say there's one woman that works there that I'm unhappy with. I saw the venue twice before booking because the woman who showed it to us the first time was so rude that I didn't want to be there. FH loved the hall and after looking around he dragged me back there and I fell in love with it and it helped that I had a nicer woman this time around. When I booked it I didn't hold back and I told them I didn't want to work with the one woman at all. So far I never have lol. There is a weird corner that has tables too far from the dance floor but depending on how many people you have you might not need to use that. I'm not using that back corner, instead I'm putting one or two tables on the dance floor.

I went to a wedding there and I did not like the food. The staff was eh. We ended up not getting our coffee and they were kind of slow.

I went there while I was looking at venues. The woman I met with was quite rude, I had a 4pm appointment and she acted like she just wanted to close up.

I had said I was looking at a Saturday night wedding flexible with the season and dates. I was looking for a 100-125 minimum. The woman was rather short with me and just no, can't happen, you would have to do a Sunday....where all the other venues I looked at were a LOT nicer and if my minimum was too low would offer other options. I was in and out of there in about 5 minutes. I didn't like the layout of the place, but that's just my opinion.

I am booked there and I believe I am dealing with the same woman everyone else didn't like but I haven't had any problems so far. She is not a typical sales person nor did she give us a grand salesman tour. She was straight forward and answered every question I asked and let us walk around and discuss what we liked/didn't like by ourselves so my fiancé actually really liked that.

Also you don't have to use that awkward space in the back because I was worried about that too. It's a good space for a photobooth but otherwise I would set up tables on the dance floor if you can not fit all.

My fiance and I thought the Riviera was going to be *it* for us when we were venue hunting. The minute we set foot in, we changed our minds-just wasn't for us. My soon to be mother in law went to a wedding there, and said the food was not good at all, and that the kitchen was right next to the dance floor, so the wait staff was trying to maneuver around the guests while carrying food and it was just sloppy.

I am getting married there and we LOVE it!! Food is top notch, everyone I know that went was thrilled, I dealt with the guy there Paul who is fabulous.I never met this woman, but every hall has that 'one' person like for my daughters sweet 16 at the sterling so we just avoid that one. I have only had top customer service.I think the place is beautiful and cant wait to get married there.

I went to a wedding there a few summers back and actually am going to one in just a few weeks. I remember it being nice. I think the cocktail hour food was just ok, you could definitely tell it was mass produced (pasta very overcooked, etc.) but it wasn't so bad. I think I sat in one of those weird tables that didn't look at the dance floor! We were around the corner or something. It was fine because we were mostly up dancing. But if you're having a bigger party, that's definitely something to consider. If you want an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, it was certainly a pretty location for both. The ceremony space and cocktail hour actually reminded me of the Woodbury Country Club where another friend got married.

Just got married there. You can get in touch with me if you have any questions. I also worked there many years ago as a waitress and I can tell you the kitchen is EMACULATE! and they do not do anything funky back there. Food is AMAZING and service was great! Nothing but the best and I had the most amazing night there :)

I've been to a wedding there I enjoyed the food but agree about a few tables not being seen or can see the dance floor. If you love it it may be a slight configuration thing with tables if you aren't having a huge guest list. If you are having the max or close to it you will likely have a few tables not able to see the dance floor
