The Riviera in Massapequa

The Riviera did an exceptional job with our wedding. The place looked beautiful and everything went flawlessly. Our guests were raving about the food and service received. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. Meghan was our contact from the very first time we looked at The Riviera. We booked a year and nine months before our wedding date and she was always there to answer any questions we had along the way. Additionally, she served as our Maitre’D and moved the day’s events along seamlessly. We would highly recommend this facility.

Samantha Studios

We used Samantha Studios for our video and we were very pleased with the service we received. We were looking for a videographer at a reasonable price and were very satisfied with George from Samantha Studios. From the very beginning, George was relaxed, attentive, genuine, and very accommodating. He arrived 4 1/2 hours before our wedding and stayed until the very last song was played. He was non-intrusive and had a great attitude. He made everyone feel very comfortable. Overall, it was so great to have a vendor that was clearly interested in satisfying all of our needs and was sincere and caring about presenting the highest level of service. George truly seemed happy to be part of our special day.

Patken Photography

We used Vinnie from Patken for our photography. Vinnie also arrived 4 ½ hours before our ceremony. He made us feel at ease from the very beginning. He was able to get all of the photography out of the way before the ceremony, so we were able to fully enjoy our cocktail hour and reception.

Father McCormick

We hired Father Tom McCormick to conduct our outside ceremony at The Riviera. We met with Father McCormick three times before the wedding to discuss the details. He was very flexible with the outline for the ceremony and was very easy to work with. On the day of the wedding, Father McCormick did a terrific job. He was very well-spoken and personable.

High Voltage Sounds

We booked with Vinny from High Voltage a year and a half before our wedding. My husband and I felt very comfortable with Vinny and read his exceptional reviews on this site. During our first meeting, we confirmed with Vinny that he would be the one to actually DJ our wedding, as we would not have hired a DJ we did not meet. We met with Vinny two weeks before the wedding and also emailed him five days before saying we would see him on Friday. However, on the day of the wedding, Vinny did not show and sent his assistant instead. We had no prior notification and were not given any explanation. My husband and I were extremely shocked and disappointed. In the three meetings that we had with Vinny and the subsequent email correspondences, we did not know that sending someone else was even an option (barring an emergency). The job done was okay, but we did find ourselves (and our guests) needing to go up to the DJ booth with suggestions. We also had to explain certain details that we had already discussed with Vinny beforehand to the substitute. After the wedding, my husband emailed Vinny and received no response. I emailed him separately a few weeks after to express our frustrations and looking for an explanation, but also did not receive a response. If there had been a reason for Vinny not showing or if we would have been told beforehand, we would not have been as upset. However, we were completely blindsided and this brought unnecessary stress to our wedding day. Our intent is not to attack High Voltage, but to give an accurate description of our experience.
