The royal at playa de carmen, mexico

I've stayed at the Royal Hideaway in Playa del carmen. I do not recommend this resort and their beach was just okay. It was very crowded. It used to be very nice but they got hit by hurricane Wilma a few years back and the beach was eroded away. There are huge sandbags everywhere. I don't know how far away this is from The Royal.

We stayed also stayed at the Excellence in Riviera Maya. The beach was beautiful and wide open. We loved it there. We totally recommend this resort.
