Re: The Royalton or The Inn at New Hyde Park
Well I can only speak for the royalton as this is the place i booked! I fell in love the second I walked in the doors... and IMO there is no other place quite like it. I can't wait for our guests to be just as blown away as I was.. and still am each and every time we walk into that place! so my vote is for the Royalton!!!!!

Re: The Royalton or The Inn at New Hyde Park
FH and I went to a wedding at the Royalton on Dec. 12 and we really loved it and even considered it as a possible RH for a minute but decided against it because FH's cousin just got married there. Then we saw the Inn at NHP and just booked it this past Friday. I've never been to a wedding at the Inn, but we fell in love with it - this is also after visiting close to 20 RHs - I am very picky - and the Inn was really the only place that fulfilled everything we were looking for.
We really liked the Royalton, it has a very different feel than the Inn, the food was excellent and the room was really beautiful. The staff was professional. We also liked that it was in a somewhat secluded area - maybe the only thing that is lacking with the Inn. FM me if you have any specific questions I can help with!
Also, I'm not sure how the prices differ at each place, that might be worth taking into consideration if you really can't decide!

Re: The Royalton or The Inn at New Hyde Park
I've never been to the Inn although I have passed it many times.
I choose the Royalton because it is unique. It is not on a main road, located on a beautiful tree lined block. The menu is all customzied to whatever you want..no cookie cutter wedding.
I know the Inn has been redone and that is why people rave about it, I think it is also very expensive because it has been redone. My friend that went there for a wedding was not impressed with the food. sorry

I've never been to the royalton so i can't say anything about that.
I went to a wedding at NHP inn during the summer and then a fam event about 2 weeks later. The place is beautiful. My only complaint was the food at cocktail hour. Since cocktail was outside the hot food dishes didn't stay too hot. It as also a windy day and there were no other options for cocktail out but to be outside.
Other then that it was beautiful

I don't know much about the royalton, but the Inn is georgous. They truly paid every attention to detail. As far as food--there are about 7-8 menu options. And they can be customized. If you book there you'll be allowed a tasting, and if you are un-satisfied you'll get your $ back. When i went the food was very good. However, you must keep in mind that every1 has different pallettes when it comes to food and that cooking for over 50+ people is a major task. Therefore, you can't please every1. Go there and see if you like it.

Re: The Royalton or The Inn at New Hyde Park
I'm very familiar with both places, and both are very special in their own way. The Inn is glamorous, bigger than life, and they've thought of every detail! The Royalton is an orginal mansion from the turn of the century, very privatley located, elegant/cozy, and their attention to detail from the management to the waitstaff is truly unbelievable. In my humble opinion once you enter the Inn it is the more grand of the two, yet the Royalton feels more special and private to me. Everyone at the Royalton is focused on one thing, to make the wedding incredible! They truly do one event a day, not just 1 wedding at a time, and the Royalton's chefs are just focused on their parties, not a restaurant as well! I will say this, if your wedding is going to be over 250 people, the Inn ballroom is better suited for a wedding that size. I hope this helps!

Re: The Royalton or The Inn at New Hyde Park
My sister is getting married at The Inn later this year and she has absolutely no complaints about it so far. Not only is the place absolutely gorgeous and newly rennovated, but they had a food tasting and were soo beyond thrilled with the food. My sister has been working with Frank who really knows what hes doing and has been super helpful to her.
I dont know anything about the Royalton, so I am no help there... but I would def reccommend the inn. good luck!

I have not been to the Royalton, so I can't comment, but I went to a wedding at the Inn Thanksgiving weekend and the food was excellent. The wedding wasn't the best I've been to (but that's because the groom was DRUNK! ), but the food and the service were outstanding.

I have only been to The Royalton. A very good friend of mine got married there in March of 2007. Everything was beautiful and the food was delicious. The place looked amazing even in the ice storm that happened to hit the night before their wedding! Good luck!
