The seamstress story from last night...

Life just gets funnier!

Last night I go all the way to Franklin Square to the alterations lady. Since I bought my dress at Priscilla of Boston and they were closing the woman who did alterations there for 20 years had given me her card. Ok, so who better to go to but her? Like 10 of the little rhinestones fell out and everyone says its not noticeable but it is to me and I wanted to see how she would close the back. (i went now because i didnt want her to run out of rhinestones since so many girls went to her) Originally when I bought the dress she told me that its ok that it was too small they will just open up the back and put ties like a corset back. So last night she says “I can take out an inch and a half from the sides of the dress and you give me the other inch. I said “What??” She said yeah, you lose 10 pounds and the dress will be perfect. LMAO!! I said what about the ties?? She said she would not ruin the design because I don’t want to look perfect in it. I mean she was really laughing and being serious but funny! LOL So now I am on a fiber one and big time diet for the rest of the month. She said “See you 10 pounds lighter in 30 days!!” This lady is not playin!!!!

omg!! I'm going to FM you when I dig out her card to see if it was the same lady who gave me her card. If she's going to have an attitude I don't want to go to her. Was she good with the repairs though? Because honestly all mine needs is a couple spots sewn up, the bustle needs to be fixed and it needs to be made shorter but everywhere else it really fits.
But I debated on calling her or not... I have to get it cleaned first anyway!

No she wasn't nasty or had an attitude at all. I mean it was pretty honest. I think my surprised face was the funniest part. She was really nice actually. I wasn't offended because I had asked her in the beginning if i lost weight would it fit because i really didnt think it would because it seems even when I do lose 10 pounds my top part doesnt change...like I can't take ribs out ya know? The truth is too that the dress looks amazing with a zipper and buttons so we will see if it fits after a ten pound loss. If you got a POB go there, i wouldn't trust anyone else with it...she really was nice, just honest. Her name is Josephine.

You're a lot nicer than me. I would've flat out told her she was rude - laughing or not!

OK awesome!! Yes, it's the same lady then. I couldn't remember her name until I saw it.
She was nice when she helped me pick out my dress and I agreed with her opinions. Also, unless I gain weight, the dress pretty much its everywhere except length - I was SO lucky.

You are soooo lucky. What size are you? 6 ?

She's way European too with a big accent...maybe she reminds me of my mom and grandma..they are brutally honest too. LOL

No my dress is actually a 10! If anything I may lose weight b/c I bought it on Black Friday lol right after Thanksgiving and I gained some weight over the holidays
She is Italian... she was very honest with me at the store too lol but it really wasn't offensive. Maybe she reminds me of my family too! There was one dress I liked a lot but it was 2 inches too small and she said it would be hard to fit onto me and I don't know if I could have lost two inches around my ribs lol but it wasn't the perfect dress for me anyway! I can't believe the one I got is one of the ones I printed out from their website as my favorite. I figured I'd either really luck out there or not at all!

Ha! I need this kind of motivation
What's Josephine's number? Can you also FM me her pricing? I'm not sure whether I want to use my dress place for alterations...

I guess that is a great way to keep you motivated! I would have been pissed at first but then again i wouldnt want to ruin the design of the dress, so brush it off, laugh, fiber one and lots of running! (BTW dont eat 2 fiber one bars in one day, you turn into a gassy mess and ur bloated, its horrible lol)
