The significance of a blusher ?????

I don't think I quite understand this. Is it suppossed to mean I'm a virgin or what?

I chose not to wear one, my sisters agree with me, Len seemed a little surprised, but said OK.

I'm getting married in a Methodist Church, do you think the Pastor will MAKE me wear one? SHould I ask him, or just show up w/no blusher.
Will my Dad be upset? He's traditional, although I'll look at my parents wedding pics, and see if my Mom wore one, I don't remember one on her.

Re: The significance of a blusher ?????

I think it is a personal choice, so Liz if you don't want to wear one don't I don't think your Pastor will say anything.

Re: The significance of a blusher ?????

It is a personal choice.
Here is the traditional meaning of it:

Bridal Veil: They were first used so that the groom couldn't back out of a marriage during the time when arranged marriages were common. (The blusher part of the veil wasn't lifted until after the vows.) The veil has symbolized privacy, modesty, youth and maidenhood. For these reasons, second-time brides usually, but not always, skip the veil.

Liz I did not wear one. I think my reasons was all for looks tho I did not want it getting on my lipstick or it messing with my peekshures. It is a personal choice tho'

Re: The significance of a blusher ?????

I loved wearing my blusher - it did not mess up my hair or makeup at all - it is very sheer so it's not like people can't see your face. I loved when my dad lifted it - I thought it was a special moment!

Re: The significance of a blusher ?????

I have a two tier veil, I am not wearing any part of it in front of my face though. I am not even sure if that counts as a blusher!

Re: The significance of a blusher ?????

I am wearing one although I will be thinking about my hair! For me its the my dad pulls it over my head and gives me the last kiss as his big girl! Plus he will probably have to dry my tears after I take it off so at least he and FH will be the only ones seeing the tears rolling along my face. That would not be a pretty sight with tears coming down my face as I walk down the aisle...

Re: The significance of a blusher ?????

I wore a blusher, loved how it looked, but hated how it felt. It was soooo HOT under there. No one told me about that!!!

Re: The significance of a blusher ?????

I am not sure if I am going to have a blusher. I dont like the whole idea of it in my face. I've seen a few brides with it and yes it is sheer and you can still see there face, but me personally I dont know if thats what I want.

I guess I'll just have to see when I go and try on my dress and veils. I dont think I am going to have a blusher though.
