The Sims 2

Is this software and add on to Sims 1 or is it a whole seperate program? I am putting it on to my birthday list of things I want and I want to make sure first, Otherwise I have to buy the first sims also.

The SIms 2 is a totally different game witha whole new Engine. I got it the day it came out

Keep in mind that you need a DVD Rom drive for it, and you also need 256 MB of RAM and at least an 800MHz processor if you have a really recent and powerful video card. if not, you need a 2 gig processor.

The game is great

DOn't bother buing the first sims. FH was going to buy tm eht sims mega deluxe now that the rpice has dropped so i cna play the wims with all the add ons, but I'll never play the original game again. this one is SOOO much better! I'll bump my otehr post, but my review.ranting.

Yes, I also got it right away - the game is AWESOME!! However, you do not necessarily need a DVD Rom drive unless you buy the DVD version. They have a regular CD version as well. The only difference is that the DVD version comes on 1 disc, while the CD version contains 4 discs. The DVD version also comes with a bonus features cd, but it really isn't anything special.

h I didn;t knwo the difference. WOW. 4 CD's. That's crazy. Ok Good info on the CD version.

So how are your sims?

And my eldest daughter is married to Johnny Depp, of course

Definitely. You dn't even notice it in an overt way, it's just overall better looking and smoother than the original. What neighborhood are you playing?

No, you cna;t use the same expansion packs, becausenthe gmae engine is totally different (that and they woudn;t make $$ selling us new ones), but you don't need some of them. You can leave the Sims lot and go to community lots, like I guess you can do on hot date (I didn't get the expansion packs for the sims), you have have house parties, etc. I don't know about magic or pets just yet, but I'm sure there will be more packs for us to buy!

I was usinbg the first neighborhood...I clicked on it by accident after previewing it. I am going to use strangeville next. I like how you make the people, very detailed. ut I dont like the camera views of the house...It seems like you cant get a good view of what you are building...Like a front or rear view...you can only get an over view of the house, and I didnt like that...I think I may have to read the book this time.

cept i picked 'romance' as my aspiration and i'm supposed to make out and sleep with all sorts of people

The sims is trying to make me cheat!

Yeah! Watch out, Debs. it's SOOO easy to cheat! Romance SIms are really hard to keep happy. I made me and FH family sims, so all we want to do is keep having kids!
