My FSI went to a Sweet 16 there on Saturday and has nothing but good things to say about this place.
Have anyone been there

They seem to have reasonable packages.

Thanks! I'm going to probably give them a call to make an appt... see how that goes. Prices seem very reasonable but there's a lot I need to be assured about. LOL.

Re: The Sterling
my friend got married there last November. my DH loved the food, i thought it was OK. the room next to the reception room had a sweet 16 going on, so we shared the bathroom with a lot of teenagers. i don't know what it looks like now, but i can tell you that it was not redone when i was there in nov. the chapel was renovated, that's about it. it wasn't the best place, but it certainly wasn't the worst place either.

Last time I was there I worked there for one night and waitressed a sweet 16. The rooms were beautiful but I DID NOT like the kitchen and I will leave it at that...with that said I didnt eat the food so I cant help you there.
IT was about 3 years ago though so a lot can change in that time

Re: The Sterling
My sister had her sweet sixteen there in 2004, and I just went to a wedding there last Sept. I can honestly say that I do not have anything bad to say about the food I've ate there. At the wedding, we definately had more than 2 choices for entrees... I forget how many exactly, but I had a salmon dish, and it was great! They had a wonderful cocktail hour and vianese hour as well.
I will say this though, if you are looking to do the package deal with the DJ and photographer that they provide, please don't. My friend was extremely unhappy with her photos, and the DJ that they had was horrible and very innapropriate! I think he was used to doing sweet sixteens at the place and acted like he was DJing for a bunch of teenagers... it was horrible.
The place was perfect though for my sis's sweet sixteen. My parents brought in an outside DJ who was great, and like I said the food was good so everything went well.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced place, I think you will be fine there. However, I do think there are nicer places on the island to have a wedding. JMO.
Hope this helps!

I loved the place the reception room at Stewart Manor Country Club (and it's like 5 min from my house!) it's just I felt the menu didn't wow me and I didn't feel they should have been asking for the price they were.
I've also heard mixed reviews on the food. I've had people tell me it was good and then a few who told me to 'stay away!'.
But I thought the BM's there were very help & very very nice.

Well I just called & spoke with Barry. I'm going to be meeting with him tomorrow night.. unfortunately flying solo since my FH needs to work (but that's ok, if it's worth taking a second look at he'll come to that!). Perhaps my mom will come with me :)
Figured it can't hurt to go and look. I rather have all the information before me before making a final selection.

Thanks :) I'm going to give them a call to set something up for next week. I'm trying to stick to seeing 1 venue a wee right now (2 if i really need to). I've been driving myself crazy with venue searchings..

They were great and the food was fine at my wedding... not A+++++++++++++++ but for what we paid, it was more than good.
Feel free to check out my review...
How much were they asking? I paid $57.00 per person for five hour reception plus cocktail hour. soup, salad, 3 entree choices, desert in addition to cake, cookies on table and open bar the whole time.

not sure what your price range is but if you want a menu to wow you try Larkfield Manor. My cousins are still talking about our wedding and the great cocktail hour almost a year latter. I think they post their gold or platinum menu on their website.

Re: The Sterling
I actually had my wedding there, and everything came out wonderfully!! The food was great! and the room was ready and set up for my wedding considering the fact that there was a 500+ ppl wedding in that same room which ended like 2 hours before mine! I was really happy and they are priced reasonably! Plus, we wanted the south asian menu variety..
