The Swan Club

The Swan Club

Hello everyone. My fiancee and I have just recently got engaged and we have been aggresively shopping for a hall. We have narrowed it down to the Swan Club and Woodbury Country Club. We are leaning more toward Swan Club since they are giving us a Sat night for 100 person guarantee while WBCC is offering a guarantee of 150. I would liike to get responses from people who have experienced weddings at the Swan Club and can give us information to ease our decision. Thank you in advance.

There are a few reviews if you look on The Brides Review board... Just use the search feature to find em

I went to look at the swan club today for the first time and it is just beautiful! I heard the food is pretty good too. FH & I are going there for lunch this week to try it out

Re: The Swan Club

u've got a tough choice because both places are gorgeous!! i contemplated both also.. (went with neither) but the swan club as gorgeous as it is, fh vetoed it because it's a little hard to find.. especially at night if u'r not familiar with the place..

knowing our families, they'd get there, couldn't find it, and go on home..

but they are both GORGEOUS HALLS!!

Re: The Swan Club

I went to a wedding at the Swan Club back in May. That was my first time there and I thought it was great. The room was nice, the service/food were very good. If you are getting married when the flowers are in bloom, the gardens are beautiful for pictures.

If you have any other questions, FM me! Good luck and congrats!!

Re: The Swan Club

Thank you for the warm welcome and the responses so far. We are getting married Oct 4th. We're hoping that the weather is great at that time of year and that the flowers are still blooming. I did get lost trying to find the place, but I'm hoping that if we book the hall we can make up very simple directions to get to Swan Club. The top room is usually 100 minimun garauntee, but we wanted the Garden room (bottom 125+) and told them that if they gave us the Garden room for 100 minimum we would most likely take it. So far I haven't found a smaller garaunteed amount for a saturday night. Everywhere esle everyone was telling us 150 minimum and 120+pp where as here they are charging us 90pp 100 minimum. We will probably book here, I'm just hoping it turns out beautiful.

I loveeee the swan club, it's soo nice for all that you get... I think it is so under-rated

Re: The Swan Club

First of all, congratulations!
We are getting married at the swan club on October 6, this year. We did not go to see other places so I cannot compare to others. FH knew he wanted to get married there, he is a chef and food is very important to him. We went to a wedding there a couple of years ago, and it was very nice, plus he has been to other events there as well and the food is always consistent. Then, the grounds are beautiful of course, and the service in general I’ve heard good things as well. We are using the Contessa room because we like it, I would have liked the garden room as well but FH doesn’t like it for some reason ( I think both rooms are nice)

Like one of the previous post, I am also worried about getting to the location, because my part of family and guests are coming mostly form the city, but of course they provide you with direction inserts and I will to bring it up to the guests I think may have trouble finding it to make sure they are all set.

Good luck!

About the directions, I am from the Bronx.. know nothing about LI....

I followed their directions from the website and they were perfect down to the estimation of miles and so on!!! The only prob both Fh & I had (we met up in separate cars) was when we came down that last hill and didnt expect the RH to be right there on the left... so we both like half passed it!!!

Re: The Swan Club

Hello Ladies,
Me and FH have booked the swan club for next May but I am a little nervous about people not being able to find it. Is anyone providing transportation, like buses for guests?

Re: The Swan Club

It's really not that difficult to get to if you follow the directions. It's just that it's in the middle of Roslyn Harbor/Sea Cliff. It's really just coming up Glen Cove Road turning left and following that one road all the way around.

The wedding I went to had transportation to and from the Swan Club if you stayed at the hotel. Obvioulsy it was much easier for guests. Especially since it is dark, in the middle of no where (almost!) and about a 30 minute ride. I don't know how much the coach bus cost them though.

I think October at the Swan Club will be so beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous there and I can only imagine how great they will be with all the fall colors and foliage.

As for directions - we are having a shuttle for our OOT guests but hope to have very good directions.
So many people have GPS's in their cars nowadays too!

First I would like to say congratulations on your recent engagement!!!! I just got married at the Swan Club and I had the Garden room. Everything was PERFECT!!!! The staff is amazing, the food was delicious and the grounds are just breath taking!!! There are some pics in my album but if you would like to see more Pics of the grounds or the room just FM me. I made the simplest directions to the Swan Club (and most of our guest where from Manhattan or Brooklyn), again FM if you want them. If you need any other info on the Swan Club just ask. If you choose Swan Club you definitely will not be disappointed!!!!!
