The Swan Club?

The Swan Club?

We've been looking at The Swan Club in Roslyn for our reception site. We think it's amazingly beautiful - our only concern is actually how LOW the price is!

We realize the menu isn't as extravagant as some other places and I’m sure that’s why the cost is so low – but we haven’t been to any events there and we’re just afraid the food is horrible or there are alligators in the pond or some other hidden thing that we’re missing.

We’re also worried that the room seems a little small (even though it’s the biggest room they have.) We’ll probably have a little less than 200 people – is that too many for that room?

ANY advice you have about the Swan Club would be great!

I went to a wedding there in Sept and we had the best time. The room looked great, the grounds are gorgeous and it had some of the best food i've ever had.
you should post this on the 08 and 07 boards too, there are many girls getting married/or have been married there

congrats on your engagement

I looked at the Swan Club and I was in love with it. We didn't book there because we were concerned about the size of the room. We too are having a little under 200 ppl, and it just didn't seem like it was large enough for that many people. When we went, they were set up for 185, and there were tables spilling out onto the dance floor.

But I wouldn't worry about the food, I heard its really great!! I have heard nothing but good things about the Swan Club!

We visited the Swan Club and loved it. The gardens were beautiful We even went to the food tasting and the Filet Mignon was soooo delicious. The only reason we didn't book there was because of the room. We wanted to do a 50 person minimum and they showed us the Afterdeck room. It was REALLY small. I would picture it for a small sit down event. I couldn't imagine a DJ and space for dancing. Also I think the max was 70 people, which means we wouldn't have any flexibility with our guest list. The bigger rooms were great though, no worries!

I've been to a couple of weddings there as well as some other events and it is a beautiful location! The food was excellent everytime I have been there. Only thing that I wasn't crazy about was that in one of the receptions the bride and groom were pretty close to the max and the tables were right on top of each other and a little on the dance floor. I could barely move my chair back to get out of my seat! However the other events I was there for there seemed to be ample room. But I have to say the gardens and views from the room were beautiful and again the food was great!

I am getting married at there in October and am in the Camelot room. You need to guarantee 165 for that room and we plan on keeping our list close to that just so that everyone has enough room.

I only have one minor complaint and it's the bathroom on the main floor (for the Camelot and Contessa rooms)....it's SUPER tiny. There are probably 6 or 7 stalls, but the stalls are TINY. They say the room can hold 220 I personally don't see it. I think it should max at 200 if that much. JMO

I agree..keep the number close to that minimum. My friend had a little over 200 in that room and it was TIGHTTTT. I mean we still had a great time and the food was just so yummy lol but the room was def too crowded

I'm getting married at the swan club in May. I absolutely love it. I was concerned about the size of the room too but ive talked to people who said that it fits up to 200 comfortably. I wouldnt go over that though. I love the grounds, the food is excellent and the people are wonderful to work with. I think the best thing about it for me is the location. there arent many places like it from what ive seen. You get both the water and the gardens.

I too am getting married there and am in the Camelot room.... definately dont go over 200 for that room... i could only imagine the tight squeeze if you packed 3 more tables into that room!

I agree the bathroom and stalls are tiny ... something im not happy about in the least bit b/c i do have bigger people in my fam who will not fit in the stalls.... no doubt in my mind... so im a lil worried about that... i might have to send them upstairs and use the bridal suite bathrooms LOL

but the grounds are gorgeous... the food is very good... (we had our tasting and went to the showcase) and they are sooooo friendly.... my mom had concerns about something so she called them up and right away they put her on with the owner ...amazing service.. they dont give you the run around whatsoever and will def work with you

ETA: i'm getting married outside on the 'patio' and am super excited about my outdoor ceremony! you're able to get that room when you book the camelot room in the summer...
