I believe I will finally take the plunge and try a Brazilian. The last time I had a Bikini Wax I broke out with huge red bumps and some black and blues...sounds grotesque, but I feel like I must give it a second try.
Does anyone know of a reputable place where I can get this done in Nassau County. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

try the Joseph Christopher Salon in either Bellmore or Long Beach. I have had it done there before.

definetly cloud nine in Little neck. The owner Paula is awesome, I have referred 5 people there and now they are all addicted to the brazilian wax.

how much do they usually cost?
I called a salon and inquired, but I think $75 is too much.

Cloud nine is 40 for a brazilian and 30 for a reg bikini

Little Neck Parkway off the corner of Jericho. (between Jericho & Hillside)
If you are ever in Manhattan, try J'adore Day Spa on Madison Ave. Natasha is well known in the city and the prices are outrageously good - under $30 for a brazilian!!
Can't recommend enough!! If you want the telephone number or address, just FM me.
By the way, you need to book appts a few weeks in advance in order to get Natasha.

Quite painful. I heard that some places use topical anesthetics to help with the pain. Does anyone know of a place that does this?

It is not fun...but it isn't the end of the world either. It gets easier after the first time. I recommend bikini zone creme...it really helps for afterward!
