so the wedding plaza has my wedding dress i had it on there and its a great price, but i dont know how there alterations are and im worried because i have a big chest and have to order a size bigger so it will fit my chest so everything else has to be taken in does anyone have any experience with the alterations there?
I got my wedding dress from there since my friends mom works there. They were very helpful as I was there ALL THE TIME!!!! I will say though their alterations department s*cks! I HATED the head seamstress. There is a woman I think Maria is her name that is AWESOME and did my sisters dress GREAT! The head seamstress though tell you 'that's the way the dres fits' instead of fixing it (any good seamstress can fix anything in a dress) and 'you can't keep shortening it, it'll look silly' (so I tripped most of the night) and 'plenty of the room in the dress, no need to take it out' (I couldn't breathe all night) and last but not least 'no, no, no you don't want a bustle with strings, this is better, won't break' (I spent the ENTIRE night with the dress up for them to keep fixing the bustle (french bustle) instead of dancing. The SLIGHTEST touch of the dress or movement the dress came un-done and I had to find someone to fix it. I would get the dress there if you love it but go somewhere else (Mario Ramo in New Hyde Park by the train) to get it altered. Do not go to the wedding plaza!
Yeah...there are tons of places to get alterations done and you might get a better price going somewhere else. Good luck
