The Woodlands - seriously considering it....

Hi All,

I think we are going to go with The Woodlands after seeing it and really liking it!

Has anyone had their wedding there or been to a wedding there? I would feel better about booking it if I could get some feedback on past experiences.

THANKS SOOOO MUCH :)

Re: The Woodlands - seriously considering it....

My best friend just went to a wedding there like two weeks ago and she said the only thing she did not like was that there was not enough room for everyone to sit down at the cocktail hour. but other then that she liked it.

Thanks. Did she say if there were any tables at all? Do you know how big the wedding was? I would greatly appreciate your feedback! My wedding will only be about 150 people, so that could be a more managable number.

THANKS AGAIN :)

I've never been to a wedding there but had lunch at PassionFish (on-premises restaurant) and it was wonderful. While there I wondered why we hadn't checked out The Woodlands to have our wedding there...its beautiful!!!

Im not much help. I went there when they had a showcase. I fell in love with the place, it was so beautiful. Very elegant and classy. But my only problem was again, the cocktail hour room. It was very small, so I inquired about how they set it up. She said it was more of a standing room, but that they set up a few tables. Why dont you call them and inquire about it. Im sure they will be more than happy to assist you.

Re: The Woodlands - seriously considering it....

My parents were there in August and LOVED it - the space, the food, the service.

I went to see it for my own reception and the sales manager was AWFUL. She was insulting to my mom right in front of her.

My mom spoke with the mother of the bride whose wedding she attended there and she told her that she was also treated badly by the new sales manager and they requested that she have nothing to do with their wedding.

FM if you want more details!

We went to a Bat Mitzvah there, different from a wedding, but AMAZING, the food was overwhelming, we ATE SO MUCH. but it was SO GOOD!!!!!!!! Everyone had a great time, and if I were to have known about it before we booked our hall, I would of seriously concidered it.. Go with it, it's gorgeous, and all of the staff were so NICE and helpful.. the valet manager was a little Hyper, but besides that perfect!!!!

Does anyone know if they have a website? I am supposed to go to an affair there in November and I am wondering what it is like.

I just noticed that they were added as a vendor yesterday - I think there is a link on the LIW homepage, or look under 'vendor' and then 'Reception sites'

I saw the Woodlands and thought it was great. My only concern was the fact that people going to PassionFish upstairs were walking right by the bridal suite and there wasn't a separate entrance for restaurant vs. wedding. There are 2 doors, but they enter from the same porch area. We were planning for a Saturday night wedding, so we thought there might be too much foot traffic.

welp I have a patient who plays golf there, I told him of my plans and he said allthough the grounds are beautiful he had 3 different experiences with their food just recently and he has been there many times. The last time he complained because he took business associates and was embarrassed. So after having that discussion I ruled it out. I dont want to take a chance on food.

I checked that place out also. I so would have had my wedding there, but it was too expensive. I hear the food is absolutely amazing and it is very pretty place.

I looked there for my wedding too. They weren't quite done with the renovations when we looked, but it wasn't my style. DH didn't like that they use those moving partions to scale down (or up) the size of the room. The menu looked great though.

I'm having my wedding there.. So far..I have nothing but good things to say about the place and how we've been treated. We've been working with the BM - Raquel. She is such a sweetheart and a pleasure to work with. Although I've never attended a wedding there, I am very confident the food is going to be excellent. We went to our tasting 2 weeks ago and everything they made for us was yummy. Can't wait for next Sunday

I've heard great things about Raquel - enjoy your day, the gardens and building are so beautiful!! My parents raved at the service they received from the staff as guests.
