The World Series...

The World Series...

How about them yankees huh? Get paid all that money and they couldn't buy a championship. What happened to them? Soriano striking out? Jeter bobbling the ball? Andy Petite did not know who to throw the ball to at which base. Very interesting how all I kept hearing was how the Marlins were gonna get swept. Pretty embarrasing for the yankees to get outpitched by a 23 year old...

I am happy for the Marlins!

First of all I am a Yankees fan and I am not happy that the Marlins one. BUT IMO the Yankees did play a horrible game. I just don't understand what went wrong in game 6.

I am not saying this cuz I hate the Yankees but honestly it was a bad game and a very embarrassing loss. Honestly I thought they were going to win it because they are known for making comebacks when they are down, but this was pretty bad. I'm still happy that the Marlins won, they had heart, they wanted to win badly and they did. The yankees did not look to motivated. Since when does Soriano strike out?

As long as they beat the red sox I dont care that they lost to the marlins. The yankees need some young blood on the team! They looked like old timers next to the marlins.

And yes they lost to a 23 yr old, but that 23 yr old is new and fresh-not all banged up like wells, etc. When beckett is pitching for 10 or 20 years well see how hes doing!

Soriano would have swung at a football if it came his way-he was really horrible this post season. But i have faith in joe and hope to see some new faces this april!!!!

Dont be a hater bedda! :)

Re: The World Series...

I can't help it but I don't like the Yankees. All I hear is how they are the best team in baseball and how everyone always knocks me cuz i'm a Met fan. So maybe I would hate them less if every yankee fan I know would stop busting my chops about the Mets...So that's why I cant get into the Yankees and If they are as great as I always hear they are then they should have won the World Series with no excuses...

Soriano would have swung at anything that came his way that's how desperate he was to hit....

I don't mean to sound like a Yankee hater but i just can't stand it when they have to rub it in and act like they are the best when their little dynasty is falling apart.

Re: The World Series...

Record wise, the Yankees ARE the best team in baseball - they have 26 World Series championships to prove that. They may be the highest paid team in baseball (with the Mets coming in at SECOND) but they haven't bought anything.

The Marlins beat them fair & square - they were obviously the TWO BEST teams in baseball since they were the two teams in the WS - and the Marlins came out as #1.

(PS - I'm a Mets fan who was NOT rooting for the Marlins...a team who actually DID buy their first WS ring - therefore stealing the Mets record. ) I'm just glad the Yanks beat the Red Sox - another team I hate!

WELL IF YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO GET YOUR CHOPS BUSTED W H Y ARE YOU DOING IT.
THE YANKEES ARE A GOOD TEAM AND THEY MESSED UP.
EVERYONE KNOW NOTHING IS PERFECT.
BUT YOU HAVE TO ADMIT THEY DO ALOT BETTER THEN MOST TEAMS DO AND HAVE DONE IN THE PASSED.

Well, it does stink that they lost - why dont you rub it in more.....I was not upset enough.

The Marlins played a better game definitely. I guess the Yanks just didnt have the magic this yr. I am by no means a sore loser for my team, but I am disappointed.

So, I guess the Mets payroll doesnt get them crap since where did they finish this yr?

I believe there was an era were they did bad so they havent always done so well in the past. didnt have the money to buy the right players i guess.

Bedda, honestly, the Mets money didn't buy them a championship either. So we can't be pots calling the kettles black here....

How about taking the high road here since we know how it feels?

I am a Mets fan - but I was rooting for the Yankees on this one.
I have to admit I was embarrassed for the Yankees on Game 6.
But C'est La Vie.......... time to gear up for next year !!!!!!!!!

Good Luck next years to the Mets AND the Yankees!!!!!!!
Hopefully it wil be a winning year for NEW YORK

Re: The World Series...

Wow! I believe (and I've heard many others agree) that the Yankees played very well Sat night.

Who cares if they lost to a 23 yr old pitcher? What does his age have to do with anything? It's talent! That guy was amazing and is very talented. But so are the Yankees - it just wasn't their year but that's okay in my book. I'll always be a Yankees fan.

Me and my brother fight about this constantly. The Mets are horrible, thats all there is to it.
I dont hate them, though, and in the 2000 WS I was kinda hoping they would win just bc I like to see the underdog come through. But they didnt, and thats probably the closest theyll get to a WS championship for a long time. Its sad, but reality.

I only rooted for the Mets also Bedda, but I still won't rub it in anyone's face.

What exactly do the Mets have to do with this anyway?

Re: The World Series...

I agree with what someone else said..the Yankees are the best team in history..there is no denying that.

I am not going to get into this topic because like all other true Yankee fans, I am still in 'mourning.'

In my opinion, I agree with that Misty said..what do the mets have to do with this at all??

Re: The World Series...

The Mets have nothing to do with the game.

Bedda: it does seem you are on a 'hating' roll. You seem to take the Yankees/Mets rivalry a little extreme

Re: The World Series...

A 23 year old pitcher should out play the Yankees. 23 and he's throwing 97 mph, nothinhg to be ashamed about not being able to hit him. I'd be more upset if we lost to a 40 year old to be honest.

It must be a hard life to be a bitter Met's fan.
