the guest list!!!! I am about to kill FH!!! I haved asked him for months to get addresses!!! He has ppl that are married listed as Ms so and so and guest...SHE'S MARRIED!! I know its not a huge deal...but I mean, I want to do it right and he can care less. It's so completely aggravating!!!! I'm still missing a quarter of the guest list!!! He put nicknames on it as well instead of their real names!! Sorry, I'm just venting!

Re: The worst part of planning a wedding
Trust me, the worst part is how rude people are about RSVPing on time.
I think invitation and guest-related stress has been the worst wedding stress for me.
GOOD LUCK!! You'll get it all together, I'm sure!

Yeah, guest list is definatly getting out of hand. FH also put nicknames on his list of friends. But thank goodness that I'm using FBIL's list of addresses from his wedding. Oh, and FH just keeps adding and adding and adding......

Re: The worst part of planning a wedding
OMG i feel your pain!!
so far FH has given me his list which up until yesterday included names like Manny the Clam Guy Bunker Steve Clarence
and that's it! so finally he got me the names and addresses but THEN i realized that he was making me give this man a GUEST when his wife JUST passed away a few weeks ago! I mean i know my wedding isnt until 6 months from now but i would feel terrible giving a recent widower a guest! like who is he going to bring? a new GF?!
then there are a few people that he said were married but are just living together so if i hadnt snooped around on my own i would have put Mr and Mrs and i know some people get offended by that!
AND THEN I realized that if we invited parents and their grown adult children he just gave me tha parents' address for everyone - i mean the kids will eventually get the invite from their parents but they are adults they should get it sent to their house
i even had to drive around the neighborhood stalking people and writing down addresses!!

Re: The worst part of planning a wedding
I hear ya! This is actually really stressing me out! I don't think that FH or his mother understand that this is not just some backyard BBQ that you can bring whoever you want to. We are freakin paying for this! I don't even want to think about the whole RSVP thing. He makes me so mad!!!!

Re: The worst part of planning a wedding
I had FH & FMIL get started with it now so I don't need to deal with it later. Tell him it will be HIS responsibility to write all the TYs after the wedding if he doesn't get his act in gear!

Re: The worst part of planning a wedding
HAHA! That is actuall quite comical! I know you don't see it like that, but the whole nickname thing is so typical of a guy. I think it's a guy thing. DH did the same thing. We actually sent out invitations addressed to 'Couch Guy', 'Shorts Guy', and 'Osirus' because DH said that we had to... MEN!

I haved asked him for months to get addresses!!
haha same here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually gave my mom his email address so now SHE can bug him- I'm done!!! I was asking him every day and he was getting aggrivated, but our invites are IN and we need to send them to the calligrapher and we will be handwriting them ourselves is she finishes and we still don't have addresses!! I finally emailed HIS friend today and got his address!
His parents are just as bad though!! They gave us an address addressed to Mr so and so..and SON! !!?????? They don't even know his name and we are paying all this money for him to be at our wedding!?????????? UGHHHHHHHHHHHH

Re: The worst part of planning a wedding
Our RSVP date is tomorrow and I am STILL waiting on two or three addresses from him!
I won't bother asking FH's family for them... they are not interested in anything to do with my wedding.

Re: The worst part of planning a wedding
I think its a guy thing, my FH was the same way. I had first names and where they worked for the longest time. I had to give him a definitive date when the envelopes were going to the caligrapher for him to get me address... and 2 of the invites he didnt get the addresses for until 2 days before the RSVP date luckly these are close friends who dont really care about such nuances.... but still.

I thought I was the only one having this problem. I am not alone. I've been after him for addresses for over a month and every day I get 'I'll do it tomorrow'!!!!

Invitations were by far the biggest headache so far. I STILL am waiting for them to be sent to me

Re: The worst part of planning a wedding
We finally dropped off the names...BUT we ran out of invites bc his family added 20 names at the last minute!!! UUGHHH I almost KILLED him and his entire family. It all worked out for the most part and we just combined ppl that lived at the same address...even though I really didn't want to. It's not worth killing each other over. If his family would have done what I asked them to for months, this wouldn't be a problem. Oh and its $800 to order an extra 50 invites...HOLY MOLY!!! I said forget it!

Yep, sounds about right! That's men for you! We bust our a@*es trying to make this special day beautiful, we ask them one simple thing, and that is a task!
