The worst registering experience ever

The worst registering experience ever

I had the worst registering experience ever at BBB. Instead of just giving us the scanner, the sales associate walked with us through the entire store and was like what about this? What about this? Did you need this? And when we said yes, she scanned the item. It was impossible to discuss anything in private. I think she knew I was getting agitated bc she said, 'I can give you the scanner and you can look on your own.' I was so frustrated at that point I just said, 'No, thanx we're finished.' I then finished everything online!
She sure did take the fun out of registering!

Every store I've been to asked me if I wanted someone to come around and help us or if we wanted to go at it on our own. You should have told her you wanted to go on your own, especially since she offered!

When we were at Macys my mom was with us and said YES, but after 1 minute I told her we would be fine on our own and she went back to the desk.

I'd hate to go around with someone from the store too -- you should go back and try again without them!

I wanted to tell her so badly that we had it under control but I knew that it would not have come out nicely
We were at the Bed Bath and Beyond. I was so mad that we only registered for 3 towels-I couldn't even think. I had to have two LARGE margaritas when we got home.

weird!!!! we had a similar experience, she helped us for like 10 mins though and then got the hint that we just wanted to wander around and see what we liked......FH wanted to KILL her!!!!

ugh... that stinks!! i had seen them at a bridal show, and instead of letting me fill out the card myself, she did it. she was like ok, how do you spell your name, last name, FH's name, last name.... i can do it a lot faster!! maybe the think that its better customer service to help us, but we're adults and can handle it on our own!!

wow thats crazy

what worries me about reguistering as early as you are is half the stuff you reguister for will be either discontinued or out of stock by the time ur shower comes along =(

Omg thats horrible! im so sorry you had to deal with that. I would have just asked her for privacy.

how bizarre! you might want to go back and try again tho. sometimes the stuff online doesn't turn out exactly the way you expected it to be, and in-store stock is questionable.

Places like BBB don't really discontinue much -- maybe bedding occasionally.

However, other stores like Crate & Barrel discontinue things every 3 months or so and come out with entirely new things, so it might be better to wait on these types of stores.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. Now you know if you register anywhere else, just speak up and tell them you want to do this alone.

It s*cks when people think they're helping you out and instead they're ruining the whole experience for you.

Re: The worst registering experience ever

I know its early but FHs family is having an 'engagement party/meet the family' (his family is huge)party in July so his mom suggested that we register for some pretty basic stuff.
