Im soooo upset. and it looks like mattingly is out too. so posada & rivera will prob both leave too and go to the dodgers with torree.

i never liked arod... so im def ok with that.... i think the yanks need some new young blood on the team... the old timers just cant do it anymore...

riviera doesnt bring his a-game anymore .... and yes its depressing but why keep an ineffective closer around?

the yankees are going down the tubes this year.

i have a feeling girardi might run the team into the ground. It seems like no one wants to listen to him and might jump ship if hes gm.
i guess we'll see what hapens

Please don't shoot the messenger on this one (cause I'm a Mets fan!)

BUT....

I really didn't expect A-Rod to stay in NYC especially after the story broke at the beginning of the season about his fling with a stripper. Things like that don't make the paper in Seattle or Texas. I don't think he ever got used to the media glare of playing in NY. Plus his agent is an a$$...of course if A-Rod tests free agency and makes more money, it's more money for Boras.

And if you look back, all of A-Rod's previous teams did better once he LEFT them.

I think if Joe Girardi takes over the Yankees, they will be fine. He did really great with the Marlins, it's just that the owner poked his nose into the day-to-day stuff instead of just letting him do what he was supposed to do. As long as George Steinbrenner has really let some of the reins go over to his sons and they let Girardi actually manage the team, I think he'll do fine.

And the last thing I'll say is that I think the Yankees really have to go back to what made them win 4 out of 5 World Series. Back then, it wasn't about power hitters and big names. They groomed the core of the team through the farm system and brought them up that way.

And now I'm going to go check my calendar and see how many days till Spring Training starts....

I agree 100% cms!!!! They def do need to start puttin kids on the team #1 b/c they are fresh/media hasnt gone to their head/they play their hardest and #2 you can pay em less and then get the pitchin we need too!!

i hated that arod came to the team and im glad to see him go

FH and me are Mets season tickets holders and I can't tell you how many times FH would turn to me during a game and say, 'Oh now that Jose Reyes makes money, he's not fun to watch any more.'

That's why we were rooting for the Rockies to win the World Series. We like those kinds of stories!

And that's all I have to say about that!
