FH and I are having our reception at Vineyard Caterers...obviously vineyard themed hahaa. But I want to do hot pink and damask as my colors so that doesn't really go. On top of that, FH and I met in Vegas so I wanted to throw in a little bit of that in there too by maybe having the tables named after hotels in Vegas but then thats a 3rd theme. I can't really mix all this can I? I mean obv I can do the color thing but I'm not sure about putting the Vegas stuff in there but I really want to have an element of that somewhere.
I'm confused!!!!
Please help girls!!!!

Re: Theme Help
vegas is a cute idea. just don't mix too many themes or it's not going to make any sense.

Re: Theme Help
Well I think you have to think about the word 'theme' a little bit b/c if you were doing a vineyard theme you would have EVERYTHING vineyard.
So maybe say you are having a vineyard 'inspired wedding' b/c of the location.
I love the color ideas and I love the vegas table names and i really think you can do it all.
For example - our colors are blush/mauve/dusty rose but we got engaged at Yankee Stadium so we will have a lot of baseball/Yankees stuff but doesnt really go w/ our colors but IMO will still work b/c of the types of things we are doing (place cards and table #'s).
You just have to know when to stop so its not overkill of one thing over another b/c then you do get into it being a theme.

Re: Theme Help
Kedra - I like the pink and black/damask colors. I think having table names as hotels in vegas will tie in to where you met nicely. you candefinitely do that with your color scheme. depending on what you want to do wit the vineyards - it might be a bit much (corks for place cards etc.,..) but the table names would go great I think. you dont have to go vineyard theme just becuase you are at a vineyard... anything you do will look lovely! I agree with Eloise too - colors don't necesarily have to go with the theme.... you can still incorporate baseball/vegas in your case, into the wedding!

Re: Theme Help
Why not make one of the 2 a bridal shower theme? I love hot pink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would also see what theme fits your RH best. For example my RH is very old fashioned, so I think a modern wedding would look strange there.

Re: Theme Help
Yeah I really hadn't planned on tying in the 'vineyard theme' into the wedding. FH just really wanted it at a vineyard. I dont really want to do the whole vine invitations and whatnot...so I mean I guess I can do whatever I want theme wise but I just didn't want it to look too out of place. And I guess if i JUST did table numbers in a Vegas theme, it wouldnt be TOO over the top and too mixed up....right?? I'm trying to convince myself hahaha

I think this is the way to go. The table numbers are a meaningful personal touch, not a theme if it's contained this way. Same with the vineyard, it's not a vineyard THEME unless you make it that way with favors, invites, etc. It's just a setting,
I think colors are a way to make a wedding coordinated, clean and focused, not necesarily a theme either. My colors are lavender and grey but I'm not having a themed wedding..make sense? lol
BTW- love the hotel name idea~

Yeah I sort of felt the same way about the 'theme' Colors dont make it a theme...I think thats more for like a fairytale theme or something.
i LOVE gray and lavender together, that will be SOOO pretty!!!!
I can't take all the credit for the hotel idea. Another LIW bride did it for her wedding
Thank God for this site...you girls are the best!!!

Re: Theme Help
If you haven't had an engagement party yet... I would save one of the themes for that...
And I like the idea about doing another one for the shower... if you keep them all separate then every party will be a little more memorable :)
