theme ideas?????

i am having a hard time nailing down a theme. i am thinking of the movie 'Sabrina' with the old backyard parties since our reception is at a country club on a golf course overlooking a pool, etc.. i keep picturing old movies, women in pearls (my dress' only details are pearls), barely pink roses, champagne flowing. we are toying with the idea of a singer who does old sinatra, dean martin, ect. songs during dinner and we booked the 61 rolls for our car. does any of this seem to flow together?
what i need are ideas for centerpieces, favors, place cards? something to tie it together.
am i being crazy and trying too hard???
