Re: Themography vs. letterpress
Thermography is raised printing (if you run your finger over the invite you will feel the printing is raised) and letterpress is printing where the words are pressed into the paper (if you run your finger over the invite you will feel the printing is pressed or pushed INTO paper - not raised). Letterpress tends to be more expensive than thermography.

No - thermography can be shiny though sometimes. Another option that is similar to thermography is engraving, which is also raised but is also pressed through the paper so that you can see the imprint from the reverse side. I ended up getting letterpress.

I agree, its the thermography that can be shiny. Letterpress is definitely more matte.

Oh yea... I meant thermography being shiny. Do they make invitations for dummies. i want to touch the paper see the ink and have someone tell me this is letterpress, this is engraving, etc. I am such a visual person when it comes to these things.

Re: Themography vs. letterpress
I sat with a book at my invitation lady and basically touched every single page. Its totally easy to see the difference with it in front of you so once you start looking through books, you'll know.

And tomorrow you're going to share your invitation lady info with me right?
