Around 3:30 this afternoon, I heard a ton of commotion outside. I tried to ignore it for a few minutes, then heard loud sirens. I went to look out the window and saw a whole bunch of people on the street a block away, with one guy laying on the ground. I immediately thought the worst, but one of the guys in the office said that he thought it was an attempted robbery and they had the guy on the ground in handcuffs. Eventually, I saw the guy get up and get in the police car.
When I was walking to the subway 2 hours later, there was still yellow police tape surrounding the whole area, making me and my friend think that there was something more serious than a botched robbery.
When I got home, I immediately turned on NY 1, and heard about the robbery and FATAL shooting in the Flatiron district. I walk by that corner 3 days a week!!
wow, i hope no bystanders were hurt. It's crazy the things that happen sometimes.

Jax I work right around there too and was shocked, they said it happened by the coffee shop, eisenbergs???? It's crazy!!! there are always so many ppl walking around there

I know, it's such a busy area, full of people on the streets and in and out of the shops! According to the article, it was at 'Da Jump Off' at 15 West 27th Street. I work at 15 West 26th, which is on the opposite side of B-Way.
