We made an offer on a house pretty below the asking price, because we knew the seller's story and that she wanted to get rid of it. And she took it I feel kinda bad taking advantage but hey you gotta do what you gotta do with stuff like this....

So it is contingent on a home inspection.. if that and all the tests go well we have a home! SOO exciting, just wanted to share!!

Thanks! Yea, we got it for ummmmm about $20,000 less than the asking price. On a low-priced home to begin with, we can't believe it.

It's not on LI unfortunately. We want to move downstate but in this crappy job market we don't want to leave our jobs (I was finishing up school upstate). The home is in the Ithaca area.

The home is about 30 years old... a ranch. Needs a definitely facelift on the inside, bc the previous owners haven't changed a thing since about 1978 LOL- like, yellow shag carpet, paneling, and spackle mirrors But FH and my dad and his family are all handy so we are going to completely flip it and hopefully make out good from it in a few years when we go to sell :) It's got a ton of potential we are very excited to get to work!
