What are some things you 'knew' you absolutely didn't want for your wedding, but ended up getting in the end?
for me, it's: -- slipper baskets: i thought they are a waste of money ... then i went to a wedding and my feet are STILL hurting from it so i decided it's a must-do
-- tiara / headband: i always hated them (on me) but my mom convinced me to get a headband anyhow
-- flower girl / ring bearer: i don't really like getting the kids involved but FH really wanted to have them

Video lol.
FH and I thought it was a waste and was an area we could save $ on. That changed but we're not spending that much on it.

OOT bags. I wasn't planning on blocking hotel rooms by the RH, but then more of my family from upstate NY, PA, etc. decided to come than expected and so I blocked hotel rooms and decided to do OOT bags!

Other than a few less than desirable music choices my mother is insisting on I can't say much. I have gotten everything I wanted (not in a selfish way) I just mean I didn't really let my parents or anyone talk me into anything...
Oh yea there are a few people I would skip on the guest list but that's a whole other story.

I kind of wanted everything that we have purchased/booked - except church flowers.......the 2 big white arrangements for the church. No idea WHY we need them, but apparently, according to my mom, we HAVE to have them.....i guess she can take them back to the house with her? annoying

Nothing really.
I wasn't sure if I'd do a veil since I felt like Cher when I tried on a few, but I found a style that was 'me'.
Other than that...which wasn't a definite 'no'...we've yet to cave in on anything that we were SURE we didn't want.
The only thing we were SURE we didn't want was meat served at the reception..

Video, didn't need or want it but it had to come as a package through the photographer we wanted so they convinced us it would be nice to have. Also didn't think I'd need or want the big wedding at all, fantasized about a small thing on a beach in Mexico but that dream was quickly squashed. As were all the other low key options I'd thought up... can't say I'm unhappy with what we're going with now, just way more than I ever wanted to spend!

I didn’t want to get married in Church-but FH really did, so there you have it. I also didn’t want a veil, but I bought one and will wear it.
