Think I may go for a theme wedding..

Original post by Opera_Ghost

Sure I may not know what hall I'm using yet... but I do have my dress & lots of ideas for themes, decorations etc..

I don't know why this thought never popped into my head before....

But I'm going to do a Phantom of the Opera themed wedding.

Some ideas I've come up with so far...

*The Monkey Music Box holds 'the rings'
*Brides maids will each hold a single red rose with a black ribbon tied around it w/ pin or charm.
*First dance is to All I Ask of You
*Entrance to the theme.
*Phantom cake topper.
*Flower petals & lots of candles on the tables.
*I can walk down the aisle to the instrumental of Music of the Night....

This is just some off the top of my head stuff. Any other suggestions to add?

uh oh, you do NOT want me to get started on Phantom stuff (I have been obsessed with the show and the music since I was 8)

Some things to do that I can think of

If you want to have a monogram, instead of an initial, have a phantom mask with your names in Red and the date.

Use candelabras (as was mentioned) with red roses around the base, or use varying levels of candles with a single red rose tied with a black ribbon at every place setting

Name the tables after characters or songs, so instead of table 1, 2, 3 etc, you have the Christine, the Phantom, Meg, Raoul table, etc; or Masquerade, All I ask of you, Little Lotte, etc

See if your DJ could do the floating cloud for your first dance. They have a dry ice machine or something like that that will coat the dance floor and mimic the underground labyrinth look during the Title song.

If you go with an evening look, have the tuxes be tail coats to replicate the style of the costuming.

Another idea may be to have the reception themed 'Masquerade' and have masquerade masks for all the guests as favors, with a little note to show the meaning behind it (with some of the lyrics of the song). Then you could incorporate some masquerade dolls as part of the decorations.

For invitations to set off the theme, they may have some that have phantom masks on them, but I have seen some with a red rose on the cover, open the invitation with some of the lyrics, like 'Say You'll Share With Me One Love, One Lifetime' then go into the wording of the invitation

Thats what I can think of right now. I will get some more as I think of it :)

(seriously, love the show, was there opening night of the movie)

I was thinking of something like that for the cake topper but it' waaay to heavy. But I found some Ornaments on Ebay that can pass for cake toppers!

I could use the music boxes on the place card table maybe!
