THinking of canceling florist

THinking of canceling florist

I spoke with a neighbor (who is also an Liweddings '05 bride) about her wedding this weekend and she was very unhappy with her florist-who happens to be the same one I am using. I am thinking of changing. However, I know every vendor has a bad experience once in a while, no one is perfect. I hesitate changing because I know anywhere else will be more expensive. My deposit is completely refundable. Thoughts?

I would say go with your gut feeling. It is true that every florist is going to have a bad one every now and then.
If you are really uncomfortable with why she was upset-then maybe reconsider, if it is something you think you can deal with then keep your florist.
Its tough without knowing what was wrong

First-the bout's were dead by the time of the ceremony. This makes me nervous because the flower I want for the bout is a tulip which is traditionally difficult to begin with. The told me they could do it. The flower this bride had was a simple rose and it died by the time of the ceremony.

Second-the centerpieces were wrong. They told the bride that the candelabras she wanted were broken when they came in so they had to make a last minute substitution. Instead of her gold candelabras, she had black.

I know which florist you are talking about. Do a search on the Bride's Review Board and see if it was a one time bad experience. Also check the Better Business Bureau. I met with that florist, and decided against them b/c I didn't 'click' with them. I'm very big on personality and getting the right feel with a vendor. There are a number of '06 girls using that florist, and they have thus far had positive experiences (from what they have posted).

The only thing that would concern me there is the dead bout flowers. Were they wilting or completely dead? As for the CP issue- they may be telling the truth and that's not such a big deal in the grand scheme of things. (my friends BM dresses were supposed to be light blue and came in lavendar! That's more major to me!) Do some scouting and see if this is a problem vedor. THe fac that you can get your dep back is nice-I have never heard of that! Good luck!

I know exactly who you're speaking about, and know exactly the review you speak of.

There are going to be neg's and pos about a vendor, and i did my research and also contemplated changing the florist as well, but decided to speak with the florist personally to find out the 'other' side of the story. I also looked at other bride's reviews who used them, and the Positives did outweight the Negatives dramatically.

I'm waiting to see pictures of that bride's review so that I may make my own judgement.

I would go with your gut feeling. If you're already questioning them now - then it's going to eat away at you day after day.

Do some more research to see how many negative reviews there are. Ofcourse most vendors will have a few but if theres more than just a few, I think that says something about how they handle their business. Everyone here knows the horror story about my florist and my deposit was NOT refundable so I stuck w/ them. I totally regret that decision now.

If you know you're going to be uneasy about it and it's going to give you uneeded stress till your day, then Id suggest cancelling. Otherwise, talk to them about your concerns and hope for the best. Good luck!

I wouldn't cancel until you speak to them first. tell them your concerns and go over your contract in detail. if you still don't feel good about them, then you should make a decision.

i went to that florist as well to check them out, you CAN find cheaper.

i found a florist who is about $700 cheaper than yours. it can be done. if you're unsure and can get your money back, go for it. you need to be sure about your decisions

I would definitely talk with them and tell them your concerns. If you still dont feel right about it then I would start cancelling. The bouts being dead is HUGE since they are going to be in alot of your pictures
HTH-Good Luck with your decision
