We are currently booked for a daytime wedding, which is what we originally wanted (cheaper, beautiful grounds at our RH, need less decoration, etc). Before I started the planning process, I didn't realize how early this would entail me waking up to get ready, finish pictures, etc. Now I kind of want to switch to nighttime because I want to enjoy the day, enjoy the getting ready process, not feel rushed....FH is intent on keeping it in the day. Is it worth the switch? It would be approximately $7,000 more to have it at night....

Re: Thinking of switching to a night wedding....
I think that is toooo much money to spend for a night wedding, that is such a huge difference...that 7k can be a price of a destination wedding lol. I say to stick to a day wedding and i honestly believe even though you have a day or night wedding you will have a very early start to your day.

Nope, I'm with the other ladies....$7k is A LOT of money. It's your day no matter what time the ceremony is!!

Every vendor we called to tell that we switched said there is such a big difference and that we wouldn't regret it. The only one who wasn't happy was the RH because its harder to book a day wedding than a night wedding and they could have had a night wedding after ours.'
Aside from the obvious price difference, what did the vendors say was the big difference? I can imagine that day and night have different vibes, but then again, there are brides on here who said that their guests partied like mad at their daytime weddings! Aggggghhh what to do, what to do?!!

Re: Thinking of switching to a night wedding....
They all just said we wouldn't regret switching to night, that it was a totally different atmosphere. Honestly I think it all depends on the group of people you have going to your wedding. Most of the people going to ours I couldn't see partying during the day and we felt night would be a better fit. As long as your DJ gets people moving then you're fine and I am sure they will. We honestly picked day at first because of the price but also because we have a handful of older people who are invited that we that are also sickly so we didn't think they would come to a night wedding. We both really wanted a night wedding from day one but budget played a big role and like I said we we doing it for others. I am sure your wedding will be amazing, day or night and as long as YOU and FH are having a great time your guests will as well. Getting up early might not be fun but it will be totally worth it! I say save the $7k for other things, ours was only a few hundred so thats why we switched.

Thank you all. I am going to see if I can get my hall to drop the price at all for night. 7k is a huge difference, esp hearing that the difference at other halls is only a few hundred!!

Re: Thinking of switching to a night wedding....
It all comes down to you and FH's preference. We would have loved a Sat. night wedding ourselves but it was not in the budget. I personally would not spend the extra 7K, I would put that toward all the other expenses. Maybe you can do a Friday evening or Sunday twilight wedding, that way its evening but closer in cost to day wedding. I've been to day and evening weddings and always had a great time, everyone partied it up either way!

Yes 7,000 is a lot of money, but im sure you could negotiate the price... it's your wedding, you only do this once (hopefully) so if you can afford the price increase, do it!
