Ok I am getting ahead of myself and thinking about favors for the wedding. I would like to make a donation in lieu of traditional favors, but do I still need to give an actual item also?? Do any of you know how to get into contact with the charity to make the donation and get the scrolls (or papers or whatever) that say that a donation was made?

I think some girls have printed their own, giving a reason why it was relevant, like FH is a cancer survivor, promoting research to help cure other diseases, etc. I would ask on BHB or the 08 board, see what tehy have done

I haven't heard of donations as favors until i came to this website. i think its a really great idea! do you have any idea what charity you will be donating to?

it will most likely end up being susan g komen that we donate to. The charity is close to my heart and I would really love to do something nice like that. I am still trying to figure out how much I would need to donate to make it 'enough'

what i have seen done-- was my family went to a dollar store and got frames--(they were nice) and just printed out where the donations went and thank you and put it in the frame and TAA DAA loll--- you may be able to find frames cheaper then a dollar if you are trying to cut cost as well--

usually if u make a donation pp dont give other favors as well...one is fine...u can make up something that states what u did with the money for the favors ....

I think that is an awesome idea. It goes towards a fantastic cause and usually people end up with favors they don't really need... So, a charity is something to consider.
