this 1 takes the cake....

it's no secret that I do not get along with my FIL's and vice versa...

they have nothing to do with the wedding, have not been supportive of us since we got engaged, didn't come to our engagement party, even after they RSVP'd with a yes...

this takes the cake though.,..

FH told me that he saw our wedding invitation in his mother and step dads bedroom......

ready.....

ripped up into little pieces and thrown out in the garbage!!!

do we say something, ignore it...

I'm at a loss.... how do we handle this very disrespective gesture by them..

any advice would be appreciated

HOLY COW!!! I really can't get over this whole thing. How rude and disrespectful! It's like dealing with a spoiled and spiteful child! I'd probably say something because I was so pissed but you may just want to leave it so they don't know that they pissed you off again...Ugh. Once again I am so sorry that you have inlaws like that. Thank god their son didn't take after them!

Fh was in shock... he just told me about maybe 15 minutes ago... He asked his step dad about it and he just gave him a nasty look and told him to talk to his mother about it.

I just dont know what to do? They have been mean and un supportive since we got engaged.

HOLY COW! Honestly, I would talk to them, get it out in the open instead of standing there and not knowing what the heck is going on! THat is completely unacceptable and I would think it should come from your FI, poor guy, but he needs to take a stand and find out what their problem is. If they have no problem and that is just them, well then maybe this outward display of disgust will show your FI somethign about his parents that is just so disturbing. he is lucky to have you and is lucky that he is starting a new, healthy family with you. I am so sorry!

I have been with FH for 7 years. We are getting married on our 8 year anniversary. We have 2 daughters together ( we were young parents) so I have been in the picture for a long time.
His mother use to be nice to me, but her husband has NEVER been nice to me at all. He is very domineering and whatever he says... she does... so she cant be happy for us because of him.

Since we got engaged a year ago-it has been nothing but hassles-they pulled a no show at our engagement party, favor their 2 other grandkids over our daughters etc etc..

I have always been respectful-but this just kills me.
FH thinks that the step dad did it bc the invitation doesnt have his name on it-it has FH late fathers name(he died when FH was 6 yrs old)

Once I get home from work, I'll have to get the whole story from FH and figure things from there.

i would personally uninvite them...if they can even show you courtesy when you are around...then you and youre kids do NOT need people like that in your life

my grandmother and aunt were like that growing up...favoring my cousins even though they were always in trouble

finally by the time i reached 18 i could see for myself how horrible they were and told my parents i wanted nothing to do with them

save your daughters the pain of seeing their so called grandparents treat your both so meanly.

I am actually stunned by their actions. How rude and mean can they be? I am so sorry you and FI have to deal with them while trying to plan the happiest day you should be sharing with these two idiots
