This horrible snow!

OMG I am so upset right now. The snow didn't seem too bad when my FH and I left my aunt's house. We made it to FH's house in Massapequa without any trouble but it was slow going in the snow. I figured I could make the 18 mile ride home ok as long as I went slowly. It took me 2 hours to get home (the ride is usually 30 min). I made it all the way safely but my car got stuck when I was trying to park. My father came out to help and went around the the block with my car to help me park it. Well, a big Yukon truck backed into my little '86 Corolla.

Luckily my father is fine! But my car has so much damage! It might be totaled (because the car is old though it was in such great condition!!!)! I know it can be fixed but it just such a busy time for me and there have been so many expenses lately (my father is supposed to have surgery tomorrow, just bought our first home and are fixing it up with so much to do, the holidays, round 3 of job interviews for a new position, planning the wedding, etc.).

I really hate the snow. I am sorry this happened to you, but as long as your dad's ok, that's what is most important.

I'm sorry that happened to your car, but I'm SO glad your dad is fine. This snow is awful. Twenty of my relatives from upstate didn't make it to my mom's house today for Christmas, because they couldn't back out of their driveways. We were all a little sad, but we had a nice day anyway.

I'm sorry that happened! We just got home ourselves and it was horrible I'm glad we made it home safely I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday!

After having a great Christmas Eve with both of our families at our house we were alone all day today-- because of the snow-we left this afternoon to drive to my BIL's house but the roads were horrible so we turned around- we have about a foot right now!!! but we actually had a great day !!!

I know! I am really upset too. FBIL was flying back to San Fran tonight. Had a 3:00 flight- and it is 10:15 and he is still on the runway. They didn't let him off the plane!!! We were so upset!!! They closed the ariport and kept him on the plane this whole time!!! Terrible!!!!

O MAN! This snow is wrecking havic! It ruined our Christmas evening plans as well-if that makes anyone feel any better. This is the first time in my whole life that I didn't go to my aunt's house on Christmas---it's so special every year with all 40 of us wacky Italians--the guys all play cards and the kids run around wrecking the joint lol & the girls all sit & chit-chat! O well! Glad everyone is safe!

Marisa---if I was on a plane for 7 hours & they wouldn't let me off - I think I might die!! Let alone on Christmas -- I don't even know this man but my heart breaks for him!! I hope it turns out ok!

AHHH!! FH and I are soooo upset too!! It took us 2 hours to get home (Bayside) from Franklin Square. We got lost because we couldn't see the signs b/c they were covered in snow. Somehow we ended up on Rockaway Pkwy by JFK
When we finally got off of the LIE, we got stuck once we came off the exit and all the way up Francis Lewis Blvd. We had FH's mustang, which S U C K S in the snow. So FH had to get out an push all the way home He's soo sore right now.
We're going to trade in his Mustang and get a SUV. What happened today was horrible and we don't want it to happen again!!

MUSTANGS are the worst! My SIL got into a horrible - nearly fatal car accident with her mustang 2 years ago in the snow......definetley get a safer car! Your poor FH--he must be dying from soreness! That is horrible!

OMG!! Thank God she's okay!! Fh hates his car sooo much right now! He cannot believe what we went through tonight.

I'm sorry to hear this, but I'm glad you are OK. I hate when people in the 4 wheel trucks think it is OK to speed around. There were so many doing that last night

I know Betty. While we were stuck in the snow the trucks were speeding around us. I wanted to get out and smack them!

OMG! I agree totally with these people in these huge trucks and SUV's! They either tailgate you to no end or they get sick of doing that & just swerve around you! My Honda can't handle it!
