I was, but not really. I was taking a weird class about the paranormal in college and the professor had someone come in and hypnotize us. There was about 15 people in a class and they were all under, except me! it was crazy, people were crying, mumbling... I was sitting there like a freak, completely normal... ( no pun intended)

When I had to participate in psych experiments in undergrad, I went to one where we were supposed to be hypnotized...didn't work for me at all. I'm not good at relaxing or letting my guard down.

A friend went to Las Vegas...

and a hypnotist had about 10 people running around the stage doing funny, and innocent adult stuff.. and not so innocent too.

one guy and girl kept kissing (but they weren't really according to my friend)
a couple of people thought they were naked.
one woman had like 15.. you know....

My boss is going tonight actually for smoking..he thinks its a crock..I'll let you know tomorrow how it turns out (he's a 3 pack a day smoker)

His wife set up the apointment and the worst part is he smokes in his office..lol..I smell like an ash tray when i walk out..but its all good..hopefully it will work and he can quit but he thinks its a crock so he will probably just start smoking another pack LOL

At the beginning of freshman year of college they had all of these events to go to, and one was a hypnotist show. It was hysterical!!! He had maybe 15 people on stage, and they were all running around doing these crazy things that he told them to do. But, he did start out with more people and as he went along he eliminated a few who weren't going under.

I don't think it would work on me, either. I don't 'relax' well. My friends say that's because I'm from New York!

When I was in Massage School, we were right across the street form Maury Povich. One of my friends got asked to go on the show to get hypnotized by the weird British guy that makes you do all those stupid things. When she came back, she said it really worked!!! She said you have to really let yourself relax & trust the person, & the whole time, she had sort of a control & knew what she was doing. It was pretty funny to see her on tv acting like an idiot!!!
Another friend of mine went to the 'Crazy Russian' at a seminar in Boston to quit smoking. It worked for a while, but now she's back to smoking.
Basically, I think he scares the crap out of you, and you stop smoking.
