This is tricky....anyone know how it goes (invitation)
I just got my proofs back and the response card says:
We look forward to celebrating with you! Please respond by March 29, 2005

____ we'd be delighted to attend. ____ we regret that we cannot attend.
QUESTION: do the periods belong????? if they do then the W's should be capital right???
Thank you

I think they look great. I say keep the periods. But, can you change 'We'd' to 'we would' ?

the word 'we' may not imply if you are inviting a single person

I agree. 'We would' is more appropriate. Contractuons are for speech and only when writing dialogue. Unfortunately, this is another grammatical rule that is ignored. The nuns drilled that into me.

I would delete the period and change it to 'Will be delighted to attend' or 'will not attend', etc.
